Playing a D&D game where due to some in game play I have ended up with a character who is Warrior 2/ Witch 5. The witch class is from Arcana Evolved, not from D&D. Taking Disads and being human I took the feats Familiar, Weapon Focus - Witch ritual, Greater Manifestation Ritual, Improved Init, Great Fort, and Lightning reflexes.

Now I find myself backed into a corner where I am not sure when I will meet in prereq's for a prestige and even what prestige to go into to make some headway in this mess I am playing. While I enjoy the characters story, I am finding him to be a bit impotent. The only thing I came up with was Dragon disciple, since the GM said that he would allow the spell progression to include my witch rituals, but I am not sure its worth it. I have an artifiact that I can take psion levels in, but I don't think I want to go that route.

PLEASE HELP :-)

I am assuming from the lack of replies this character may be a lost cause :-)

Sorry, completely unfamiliar with the class. You might want to talk to your GM about letting retrain a feat or two to meet the requirements if you find a good PrC

The problem is probably not on the character, but on the sourcebook itself. Too few people have ready access to Arcana Evolved, unfortunately. :smallfrown: Can you give us a small rundown of the class?

Arcana Evolved isn't even on freegamemanuals. As Larkas said, you need to outline some of your characters capabilities and what types of classes may be beneficial.

The first thing you should do is hire an NPC Psion (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/equipment/goodsAndServices.htm#spell) for a Psychic Reformation (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/psychicReformation.htm) to switch some feats and skill points so you can qualify for something. Second, you should check the retraining rules in PH2 Chapter 8 to switch those Warrior levels (assuming it's the trash-can-tier NPC class from the DMG (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/npcClasses/warrior.htm)) to something, anything more useful. Warblade, Crusader, Fighter, Duskblade, Paladin (variant (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/variantCharacterClasses.htm#paladinVariantsFreedom SlaughterAndTyranny)), or even more levels of your third party rulebook classes.

From there, you should be able to salvage some semblance of usefulness from this character.

Just from the name of the classes, I am thinking Eldritch Knight (or that Five Nations equivalent) or Abjurant Champion might be the way to go.

This all hinges on what witch rituals do and how they interact with other systems in D&D. For instance, when I see a caster with Iron Will I think "ah ha, another build going into incantatrix." But do prestige classes that advance casting work in general on witch rituals? How do they interact with metamagic, if at all?

The second big question is, what do you want to do? From the setup it looks like a gish of some sort. But do you have any requirements beyond "I want to not suck?"

Also, where is the Warrior class from ? The only 3.5 class of that name is an NPC class.

It may be the generic class (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/genericClasses.htm) from UA, in which case it's actually a stronger choice than Fighter 2, though generic classes aren't supposed to be used unless they're the only classes used.

Ah, forgot about that one — it is a bit obscure.

But, it could be something else entirely ?
