Ylarra - Elven Village [Destroyed | Ploty]

[Exachix]

This was the Home to Exachix and Lorrian

The Village consists of a slightly Broken wall around a complex of about 10 or 11 buildings, home of the Zephyrs. Or what was home. Now the buildings are burnt and wrecks, only their basements survived.
The 'Village' is positioned within a forest far from Town. Acessable only by Air, Foot, Horse, or Teleport. However, it's about 1 days travel from town. (By horse).

[Exachix]

Exachix, Lorrian, and Kantur appear outside the Village, it's walls not far away.

[Kantur]

Maybe one of you two should lead...

[Exachix]

Exachix nodds, summons his staff, and walks forward towards the gates.

Lorrian draws her bow and looks around.

[Kantur]

Kantur moves a hand to the hilt of his sword, following Exachix

[Exachix]

Exachix reaches the gates, and hmms. He rapps with his staff and waits.

Lorrian hmms and waits, quietly.

[Kantur]

Kantur looks about at the scenery

[Exachix]

Exachix hmms and takes a step back, before jumping forward and striking at the gate with his staff. The Rotten wood frame breaks and the gate falls in. Inside, you can see the village has been effectively destroyed.

Lorrian sighs and looks at her feet.

[Kantur]

Kantur quickly moves over to Lorrian when he sees the scene, wrapping his arms around her.

[Exachix]

Lorrian sighs and sniffs.

Exachix growls and looks at Lorrian, before heading in. "T'was expected."

Lorrian sniffs again.

[Kantur]

Kantur kisses her cheek
Do you still want to go in?

[Exachix]

Lorrian sniffs.

"Yes."

Exachix begins to walk to the center of the Village.

[Kantur]

Kantur smiles at Lorrian before taking her hand and walking slowly down the path Exachix took.

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles faintly, looking at her feet.

Exachix reaches the center and looks around, before turning back to Lorrian, and smiling faintly at her. He spreads his arms.

"Home." There is a hint of Sadness in his voice.

((AH! Sorry Kantur, going out for food now. Be back after))

[Kantur]

Kantur merely nods and looks around.

((I need to grab food anyway, so no harm done :smallwink:))

[Exachix]

((Should go soon... Ah I have some time. 'some'.))

Exachix lowers his arms and sighs.

Lorrian sniffs. "Sorry..."

[Kantur]

Kantur moves over to Lorrian, holding her tightly
What could you possibly have to be sorry about?

[Exachix]

She hmms and Exachix pokes about, looking for a basement.

"You weren't here were you? Well, I died quite a while ago, before Christmas, and some person resurrected me as a vampire. I caused all this destruction, and I remember doing it. I went after Exachix and he, and other frequenters at temples, killed me and brought me back as normal. That's what that freaky Vampire dude in Ravenloft meant. I destroyed this place. I didn't want to but I did..."
She begins to cry into him.

[Kantur]

I know enough about the undead to know it's pointless to try and hit vital organs, and that I've never met one that could be described as 'good'. Even before I met you I would've doubted that all those people were evil, mallicious or even just mean before they became what they became...I don't know what it is that changes those people; whether it's the necromantic spells, or just the nature of the beast, but I know that even the intelligent undead seem compelled to evil by something that they don't control. It wasn't you that did this, it might have been your body, your memories, maybe even your thoughts at the time, but it wasn't you.

[Exachix]

Lorrian sniffs and crys into him.

"Thank you...."

((Gah, sorry, got to go to bed. There's a Basement somewhere you can go into to rest in. But that's all of interest for now. Sorry Kantur. 'Night))

[Kantur]

Kantur slowly leads Lorrian off to the basement and holds her close as they drift off to sleep.

In the Morning....

Exachix has woken up and got up to explore around.

[Kantur]

Kantur wakes and looks about the basement

[Exachix]

It's just a normal basement really, a rectangular room. However, in the room; at the end being a dusty shelf, with an array or weaponry along some length of it. The bed Kantur and Lorrian are sleeping in are shoddily done, quickly. Exachix's is just a few blankets in the corner. (Sleeps in fox form)

[Kantur]

Kantur heads over to the shelf, examining the weapons carefully.

[Exachix]

The weaponary there seems to start as a selection of Swords, straight, and turn to rapiers and weaponary requiring finesse rather than strength. At the end there are a few longbows and a pair of repeating crossbows.

[Kantur]

Kantur picks up a few, one by one, examining them for weight, flaws, etc.

[Exachix]

There are varying levels of each weapons. The Swords range from very heavy to medium weight, rusty to quite clean, and not nicked at all to flawed beyond redemption.
The Rapiers are Pristine and clean, light and generally very good quality. Seems strange they would be in good nick after this time.
The Bows are bows. Their strings have loosened, and require fixing.
The two Repeating crossbows seem fine, however one is slightly dampened.

Lorrian stirrs, but only rolls over.

[Kantur]

Kantur casts Detect Magic, studying the shelf and weaponry carefully for a few rounds.

[Exachix]

The Swords are nothing special, Most have no magic, some only +1 bonuses, all but 2, these are +2 and have Shocking Burst on them. (these are cleaner than the others). They also have a aura around them that is obscure.
The Bows are.... well, two have +1 bonuses, and another 2 have +2 and Shocking Burst on them.
The Repeating crossbows both have +2, and Shocking burst on them.
The Rapiers are cool. They are +3 and have Shocking Burst, and Keen.

The Shelf has a failing spell to preserve the weapons on it. The state of some of the weapons is evident to this.

Kantur picks up one of the crossbows and drops it on the floor beside him to see if it has an effect on it while examining the obscure aura swords more closely.

[Exachix]

The Crossbow stays as normal. The Shelf's aura would be no good if it no long worked when you took the weapon off.

The Obscure auras seem to have something to do with air and lightning.

[Kantur]

The shelf would be more interesting if the weapons crumbled. More amusing to watch really.

Kantur picks up one of the swords, trying to use whatever magic's in it.

((UMD... AH yes.))

The sword immediately, upon touch, seems to begin a spark, but pauses, before going ahead anyway. It totally sheaths itself in lightning, possibly shocking Kantur if he isn't insulated at the hand.

[Kantur]

Shiny...It's moments like this I'm glad I'm a Tiefling...

[Exachix]

Lorrian stirrs and murmers.

The Sword seems slightly put out at the lightning resistance, and the general shocking fades until there is a no lightning at all.

[Kantur]

That's just mean...bet if I worshipped Talos that wouldn't happen...

[Exachix]

The sword is silent.

Lorrian hmms tiredly.

[Kantur]

Let's try again, shall we?

Lightning crawls along the sword.

Lorrian watches.

[Kantur]

Good sword. Now, lets find something to use you on to see if you do more than be shiny...

Lorrian smiles.

"Wow, it's being sensible."

[Kantur]

Morning. There's some nice weapons on that shelf, the ones that still look useable are enchanted.
He looks around for any rats

[Exachix]

There is a pair of rats in the corner. One looks up and scurries off, the other doesn't.

Lorrian smiles, gets up and dressed, before wandering over.

"I've not seen most of these."

[Kantur]

I'm claiming one of the rapiers. I've been needing a precise weapon for a while...
He sneaks over to one of the rats

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles and watches Kantur sneak over to the rat. It's oblivious to the rat.

[Kantur]

Kantur attacks the rat with the sword

[Exachix]

The Sword sheaths itself in lightning and the rat is very shocked.

Lorrian smiles.

[Kantur]

Useful...any way to stop the lightshow?
He asks the sword

[Exachix]

The Sword stops abruptly.

Lorrian laughs.

"They are weird swords."

[Kantur]

Useful though...
He finds a space for it on his belt before heading back over to the shelf

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles and goes for it's pair.

"I don't know if we should be taking these. Ah well."

She grabs the other and hold it and it sheaths itself in lightning, but not in such a way that it hurts her. Just the blade is 'jolted'. She smiles.

[Kantur]

We probably shouldn't, but I don't think anyone's going to object...

[Exachix]

Lorrian nodds and sheaths the sword and smiles. "Exachix may, but we can ignore him."

Exachix appears at the entrance to the basement. "What was that Lorrian?"

[Kantur]

Morning. Good walk?

[Exachix]

Exachix nodds as he walks in.

"Oh, interesting. Didn't find much of use."

Lorrian hmms.

[Kantur]

What were you looking for?

[Exachix]

Exachix smiles.

"I was just poking around."

Lorrian hmms.

I'd like to find something. Prehaps we can look at some point..."

((AH! Sorry, got to go to bed. 'night Kantur))

[Kantur]

((Night))

Kantur picks up one of the rapiers before lying down on the bed, relaxing.

[Exachix]

Lorrian hmms as she stirrs.

Exachix has woken and is looking at the weaponary.

[Kantur]

Kantur wakes
Morning.

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles.

"Morning."

Exachix smiles as he looks over, then twangs a bow. It's not a good twang really.

[Kantur]

What's today's plan?

[Exachix]

Lorrian hmms.

"There probably isn't one. Go poking around."

((I will have to go at some point to my school's parent's evening -_-))

[Kantur]

Sounds good.

((I've got to leave for hockey in about 40 minutes anyway))

((Ah. I had to leave then =P))

Exachix smiles as Lorrian and Kantur fall back asleep. He shifts to fox form and lays down on his blanket.

Exachix wakes suddenly and word of recalls out. Leaving a bracelet there.

[Kantur]

Kantur slowly wakes.

[Exachix]

Lorrian slowly wakes beside him.

[Kantur]

Morning.
He smiles across at her.

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles.

"Morning."

[Kantur]

He looks about
Hmm, Exachix must be off exploring I guess...

[Exachix]

Lorrian hmms, and sees the bracelet.

"Or needed to go back."

[Kantur]

Or that...

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles.

"Ah well."

[Kantur]

So what do you fancy doing today?

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles.

"Well, poking about may be a good idea..."

[Kantur]

Let's do that then.
He kisses her cheek before getting out of bed and dressing

[Exachix]

Lorrian gets out of bed and dresses, smiling. She looks over at the bracelet and puts it on.

"In case he needs us."

[Kantur]

Good idea.
He checks over his weapons.

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles and watches, before checking for a sword. She smiles and puts one down by her bag.

[Kantur]

Ready to go?

[Exachix]

Lorrian nodds and heads up out into the village. She looks around and sighs at the burnt buildings.

[Kantur]

Kantur follows her.

[Exachix]

Lorrian hmms and walks to around the house for which had the basement they were sleeping in, she looks around.

"Hmm."

[Kantur]

Something up?

[Exachix]

Lorrian shakes her head.

"Not really. I'm trying to remember where everything is."

She looks at the house which they slept under, and mutters something, before turning to the house to the left of the house, and walks towards it.

[Kantur]

He follows her quietly

[Exachix]

Lorrian stops in front of this 'house' and smiles faintly.

"This was where mum and dad lived..."

She goes through the doorway and looks around it's ruins, moss overgrowing it.

[Kantur]

He smiles sadly at her as she enters and steps close to her, laying a hand on her shoulder gently.

[Exachix]

Lorrian sighs and sniffs, not crying, just sad. She smiles though and looks around.

[Kantur]

He slides his hand down her arm, taking hold of her hand.

[Exachix]

Lorrian hmms and sighs.

"Nothing useful here... Lets have a look behind the house."

[Kantur]

Ok, lead on.

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles and leads him around to the back of the house, before hmming.

"Wierd."

She kneels down and appears to be looking at the ground.

[Kantur]

What is?
He stands just behind her

[Exachix]

Lorrian hmms and begins to brush off some plant life that has grown on something.

"This."

She starts to brush more off, revealing part of what seems like a carved disk of stone.

[Kantur]

What is it?

[Exachix]

Lorrian shrugs and finishes the brushing.

"I don't know."

It's a circular Dish, made of stone, segmented into four. On it is carved pictures. In each segement there is a hexagonal hole, and each segment's pictures correspond to an element.

Interesting...

Lorrian hmms and looks at it.

In each section, pictures Depict an element, going anti-clockwise;
At the top, Air, has pictures of wind and tornadoes. As well as thunder.
Fire, has pictures of fire.
Earth, has pictures of flowers.
Water, has pictures of the sea, and boats.

[Kantur]

Have you seen this before?

[Exachix]

Lorrian shakes her head and runs her fingers over the hole for 'air'.

"I think it's a lock. That needs 4 keys..."

[Kantur]

Any idea what they look like?

[Exachix]

Lorrian nodds, stands and looks at Kantur.

"Yes. They are crystals that we wear as amulets. Now I think I should tell you about our family." She smiles ans sits by the stone. "You know we are called Zephyr right?"

[Kantur]

I'd hope so by now...

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles.

"Well, we aren't called that because someone many years ago was drunk and thought it was fun. We are called that because we are all elementally aligned to air. This was because some airy elemental bred into the family. I don't know how, but we all have some control over powers of air. This only works when we have our crystals however."

[Kantur]

I see.....

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles.

"Now, I think this lock needs 4 keys, one from each element. I've lost mine... and Exachix has probably lost his..."

[Kantur]

What about the other two?

[Exachix]

Lorrian hmms.

"I don't know. All I can think of is that the other two arn't people I know..."

[Kantur]

There must be some way of finding out...

[Exachix]

Lorrian nodds.

"Probably. But we need to find mine and Exachix's first."

[Kantur]

Any ideas?

[Exachix]

Lorrian hmms.
"Around here, within this village..."

[Kantur]

I'd offer up a prayer to Tymora, but I doubt I know enough about them to be any help...

[Exachix]

Lorrian shrugs.

"They are crystals encompassing, usually, some of the elemental power of air, allowing control over it to people in our family, effectivly."

[Kantur]

Can you think of where they might be?

[Exachix]

Lorrian sighs.

"Mine would still be within this village. Exachix's, is probably not far from the village."

[Kantur]

Let's get searching then...

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles and stand.

"Yep. I'm guessing it would be near the graves..."

[Kantur]

Why can people never lose something in a cheery place?

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles.

"I never lost it there. I died and was brought back." She sighs and begins to head over there.

[Kantur]

Let's go.
He walks beside her, stretching an arm around her.

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles and walks with Kantur there. When they reach there they see a few rows of gravestones. Lorrian heads to the first row, and the second from the left.

"Hmm, should be about here..."

[Kantur]

Kantur keeps a careful eye out as they walk

[Exachix]

Lorrian hmms and looks at the grave.

[Kantur]

He stands beside her, watching her carefully.

[Exachix]

Lorrian hmms.

((Going to bed now... sorry Kantur.))

What's up?

Lorrian hmms.

"It should be here."

She stands by, then kneels by the grave.

[Kantur]

Kantur investigates closely near the grave.

[Exachix]

Lorrian hmms and burshes some dirt. Kantur can see something shiny.

[Kantur]

Is that it?

[Exachix]

Lorrian hmms and picks it out from the dirt. It's a hexagonal prism shaped crystal on a chain. Within the crystal glows a light-blue wisp of energy.

"This is it."

[Kantur]

Three to go...

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles and stands.

"Three. Yes. I don't think we'd find two here. Exachix may have dropped his near the gate, let's try there."

[Kantur]

Alright.

((Though it'll have to be later, I need to take a nap before I fall asleep at my desk...))

[Exachix]

((ok))

Lorrian turns and begins to head to the gate, putting the crystal on around her neck. The Crystal's glow becomes brighter, but not too bright. She pauses and closes her eyes for a few seconds, before re-opening them again, smiling faintly.

[Kantur]

Kantur watches interestedly

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles and heads towards the gate.

[Kantur]

Kantur follows her.

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles and, when they reach the gate, she looks around.

"Hmm, isn't there something called the mirror world?"

[Kantur]

There is, why?

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles.

"If it's just like our world, there would be a family of Zephyrs with crystals for earth. That's part of our problem solved."

[Kantur]

Possibly, but they tend to keep annoying people in this world after they meet their opposites...

[Exachix]

Lorrian hmms.

"Hmm."

She begins to look around.

[Kantur]

If you think it's there, I'll go, I'd just rather avoid it if I can.

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles.

"It'll probably be there. From what you say though, we'll have to see..." She goes and stands at the gate, looking out.

[Kantur]

Yeah...See anything?

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles.

"I think so."

She heads off and goes down the path, and stops at a bush.

[Kantur]

He follows her down the path

[Exachix]

Lorrian kneels by the bush and searches for a few seconds, before wincing and pulling her hand out, in it is a thorn, she pulls it out and winces, before putting her hand in again and searching around.

[Kantur]

He stands beside her and casts a Cure Minor Wounds

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles and pulls out another crystal on a chain, this one glows with a subdued red.

"This is Exachix's. And thanks."

She stands and kisses Kantur.

((Got to go for food. Be back, sometime))

[Kantur]

No problem.
He smiles and embraces her.

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles and looks back into the village.

"mum?"

[Kantur]

Did you say something?

[Exachix]

Lorrian just looks at the village, and walks briskly back, heading towards their ex-home.

[Kantur]

Kantur follows her quickly

[Exachix]

Lorrian stops at the house, sighs, and goes over the threshold in. Within 'stand' two ghosts, one male, one female. They smile at Lorrian. Lorrian smiles back, but with tears in her eyes.

[Kantur]

Kantur watches silently from as far back as he can

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles, a tear rolls down her cheek, as she tries to touch one, but as she does, the pair fade. She looks at the floor, and sniffs.

[Kantur]

Kantur walks over to her, gently placing an arm around her

[Exachix]

Lorrian sniffs.

"That was my mum and dad..."

((gah! Got to go again! Be back after 21:00. Sorry.))

[Kantur]

((No problem))

He kisses her cheek and hugs her
I'm sorry.

[Exachix]

Lorrian sniffs.

"It's ok..."

[Kantur]

Lost for words, he settles for continuing to hold her.

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles.

"I love you Kantur. Thanks for being here."

[Kantur]

I love you to. And where else would I be?
He kisses her cheek and smiles at her

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles and kisses him back.

[Kantur]

I think the other two keys can wait until tomorrow, don't you? Is everything you want to do here done, or do you want to stay a while longer?

[Exachix]

Lorrian nods.

"The other keys can wait. We can raid the armoury at least... then we can go back to town..."

[Kantur]

Alright. Lead on.

[Exachix]

Lorrian nodds and leads back to where they were staying the night. She takes her bag and collects the good weapons into it. This includes the very nice repeating crossbows.

Total Weapons:
2 Repeating Crossbows, Heavy
3 rapiers
2 'normal swords'

Kantur should have a special sword, (unless you put it back, did you?) and a rapier. Lorrian has the other special sword.

Lorrian smiles and puts Exachix's blanket in the bag too.

[Kantur]

(Yep, he still has the special sword)

A nice collection. Back to town, find out why Exachix left?

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles. "Yep." She closes her eyes, and hmms.

Exachix appears. "Ah! Ready to go home?"

Lorrian smiles, holds up the red crystal and hands it to Exachix. "Yours."

[Kantur]

I do know how to Teleport, you know?
He sticks his tongue out at Lorrian

[Exachix]

Lorrian smiles.

"So"

She sticks her tongue out at Kantur as Exachix Word of Recalls them back.
