Starting a new campaign with a new group soon and apparently the game's gonna be 3.5 core only. No more even SRD/OGL only.

So this got me thinking which builds are very nice in a core only game. Sure you have the classic "insert Tier 1 or 2" 20 build, but those so obvious I shouldn't even have to mention then hahaha

What I'm talking about builds like the Horizon Tripper, that Arcane Warrior gish that has 16 BAB and cats 9th level spells, or maybe that archer bard that someone had posted on BG.

Bonus points if the build is payable from lvs 1 through 20.

Edit: Found post with bard build, although the link for the build itself is broken... Sorry for crappy formatting, I'm on mobile: http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=8312.0

Druids are, by far, the best Core only builds 1-20, what with being worth three separate classes by themselves. Wizards are by far the best at 20 but the worst at 1. Sorcerers are slightly better at level 1 but are worse by level 20. Clerics are great at 1 but fall behind later on. Fighters are pretty good at level 1 but fall behind before level 10. Rangers start out worse than fighters but stay above them after level 5 or so. Rogues are okay all the way around (so long as they stay out of direct combat against powerful enemies), though it depends on the campaign and what your party has to face. Barbarians are pretty good throughout their levels, though they tend to be on par or a bit above rogues overall. And bards...are bards. They have decent spells and decent skills, but they need careful watching to make sure they function well.

But again, druids are by far the best on average the whole way through.
