How is this feat of any use to a prepared caster? I thought they were going to say that prepared casters can have two extra cantrips or orisons prepared with this feat but it merely says they can add them to their spellbook. But all prepared casters already know ALL cantrips or orisons for their class.

Worthless.
Its intended use is for Spontaneous casters, who have actual limits on how many spells they know.

For classes that already know their entire list (i.e. Clerics, Druids, etc...) it is completely worthless.

For "Spellbook"type casters (i.e. Wizard, Witch, etc...) it is _almost_ completely worthless. School-Wizards start with all 0-level spells _except_ those from Prohibited Schools, so I suppose you could take the feat to get a couple of those.

And for Spontaneous Casters (i.e. Sorcerer, Oracle, etc...), you may as well just take Expanded Arcana (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/general-feats/expanded-arcana) and get something better then 0th level spells.
