Is there any way to access old threads from the gleemax forums? Every link I find to a page there (many of which I really would like to read) just redirects to this crappy redirect page (http://community.wizards.com/). It's quite maddening.

Sometimes you can dig out pieces of a thread via the Wayback Machine (http://archive.org/web/). But you may not get the post you want, and the rest of the thread may be eaten by langoliers.

May I inquire about what you're looking for? rockdeworld and some other posters have made an attempt to archive or repost some of the older "Famous Optimized Character Builds (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?258580)". Mostly Campaign Smashers stuff.

Googling the specific thread should get you there; they still have at least some of the old threads here, (http://community.wizards.com/forums/77356) albeit in brand new forums that will also have 4th edition threads in them (the forums getting shuffled around are why all the old links are busted).

That being said, a lot of work has been done to rescue a lot of the handbooks and builds and put them on new locations that aren't at the mercy of whoever manages the WOTC forums, so checking the more popular 3.5 charop boards is still your best bet.

Thanks for the tips, both of you. At the moment, it's http://forums.gleemax.com/wotc_archive/index.php/t-786457 ; it contains some Incantatrix tips for boosting spellcraft, which is relevant to a current build-in-progress.
