As title asks, are there any spells an evil level 11 cleric could use to compel someone into service? Geas seems limited to certain domains in 3.5e, and might not be allowed given the nature of the game. Any insight is appreciated.

Dominate person?

Found in several Domain lists.

Geas is renamed "Quest" for clerics. It is a 6th level spell that all clerics can cast.

Dominate person is your best bet. Or if they're undead you could rebuke them.

Quest (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/geasQuest.htm) is a 6th-level Cleric spell, so an 11th-level Cleric is able to cast it regardless of his or her domain choices. The Mother Cyst feat (in Libris Mortis) grants access to the Necrotic Domination spell, which functions much like Dominate Person. There are a number of creatures with Charm Monster as a spell-like ability, such as Barghests (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/barghest.htm), Erinyes (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/devil.htm#erinyes), Formian Myrmarchs (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/formian.htm#myrmarch), Ghaeles (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/ghaele.htm), or Succubi (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/demon.htm#succubus), that can potentially be called via (Lesser (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/planarAllyLesser.htm)) Planar Ally (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/planarAlly.htm). Cerebriliths (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/monsters/cerebrilith.htm) and Formian Taskmasters (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/formian.htm#taskmaster), also potentially available through Planar Ally, have Dominate abilities.

Thank you for the help, all. Seems Quest may be the answer, I thought it was domain restricted to Charm, Fate, Nobility, and Tyranny.

As for Dominate Person, the cleric in question has Trickery and Illusion domains so I don't think that spell is available to him (unless I am blind).

There's also Mark of Justice (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/markOfJustice.htm) - doesn't technically force them to do anything, but an activation behavior of "disobey me" means that they'll do a lot to keep from getting whatever curse it is you picked.

That's very interesting. Does a geas itself not prevent them from talking about the geas? For a little background, what I had in mind was an evil cleric using geas to force an unwilling target to commit murder - but it won't do much good if said person could simply turn themselves into the guard and explain what was going on.

The first rule of geas is you do not talk about geas? I suppose you could include that as part of the commands, but there's still nothing stopping them from telling someone anyway if they can eat the damage.

If you Quest someone to commit a murder and tell no one of it beforehand, then in absence of being stopped by an external force they will commit said murder without telling anyone of it beforehand. Do not pass go, do not collect 200 gp.
