Play a monk.

Play a Winged Half-Dragon Half-Dragon Half-Dragon Half-Dragon Half-Dragon Human. Who needs a class with +20 LA?

I was actually messing around with 20 point buy and the pathfinder doppelgänger to see what I could come up with in terms of a baddy. Turns out you can get 17 in all stats, or pretty close at least.

Decided maybe some sort of factotum/chameleon thing?

Hehe I see what you did there.

As for the OP. I'd play a Psion and punch people to death if they annoy me. Bonuspoints if you are small too.

Depends on world.
In Ravenloft I'd play a Paladin.

Paladin forever, seriously with those stats you could be the greatest pally ever.

And i agree with being a Pally in Revenloft.

Or id be a Binder and have so much fun.

I'd be a Half-Celestial, because what's the point of having all 18s if you can't add another +20 in racial mods on top of it?

Human Cleric of Zarus (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20041203a).

I once rolled five 18's and one 17, I'm pretty sure I made an arcane gish, but we only played those characters for one session.

Play whatever I want. The stats don't really matter to me at that point. Probably one of the more MAD classes, but not necessarily one of those.

Definitely this. Stats are important and all, but they mean so much less than most other optimization factors, and we are basically talking about optimization factors here, that it's ridiculous. An all 18 monk won't become a god any more than an all 10 and 11 druid will become a pile of crap.

Second (Third) this. Stats help in the early levels but if you are playing a serious MAD class you will need to eventually raise them higher than 18 and then it still gets expensive and unnecessarily bad. It helps some but doesn't solve the issue to put it in other words.

I still stand by my small castery guy with 16 str beating up bad guys and taking names

i would really carefully consider what to play, it would be something normally underpowered and MAD, Monk jumps to mind but i wouldn't want to. paladin would also be really good, honestly the only thing a paladin doesn't want to much of is dex. even int is useful.

A Crusader. Get that Immortal Fortitude stance and Strike of Righteous Vitality, and literally fight forever.

Mongrelfolk Enchanter. Intelligence 16, Charisma 14 is perfectly acceptable for this, and anyone I can't seduce I can always pop on the nose.

I would probably try some of the builds that are MAD as hell but really fun. For example, I have a warforged who, at minimum, needs
Str 14 (competent in melee)
Dex 17 (TWF/switch hitter)
Con 14 (frontliner)
Int 13 (Combat maneuvers)
Wis 13 (scout role, also possibility for Combat Focus Line)
Cha 15 (Intimidation and combat performance)

I got to try running him, but have since been removed from that campaign. I actually was point bought by another player because I rolled badly to his triple 18s when he was incredibly SAD.

Factotum/Chameleon. Really the only thing I can think of.

not really a build... but i would try and play X to Y man.

dip/ build with the focus on getting as many stats to as many things as i could. the aim by level 20 would be trying to get as many ability scores to every skill, save, attack rolls, AC, damage, and any other types of thing like initiative or a particular ability.

actually.... if it was possible, that would be amazing....

Polymorph, because 18 just isn't enough.

I played a barbarian when I got 1 18 and 5 16's before.

It really is hard not to go with <something> of Zarus. I might not do a cleric, but if evil is on the table, it's hard not to worship the incarnation of human pride. Or maybe a classically racist elf, but that means being an elf.

Definitely a melee-something; they usually require too many good stats than I can afford at once. Probably involving punches. Or gish.

Two weapon fighting gish :p (somatic weaponry finally shows some use!). Still put most monetary resources into casting, since the physical stats are mostly taken care of (all I gotta do is pump str with some spells and I'm good to go)

High stats are nice to have, but they don't give much more versatility to any given class. You'd probably qualify for a lot more feats than usual, and lower HD classes would really benefit from the higher HP total. But otherwise? I'd just play whatever I'd planned on playing anyway (probably a Bard, Rogue, or Warlock) and consider any of the other increases just a nice bonus.

It does make the more painfully MAD classes more fun to play since you don't have to spread your points so thin or neglect an important stat. Hence the repeated mention of Monk, Paladin and gishes. It also makes normally unsuitable race/class combinations, like my mongrelfolk enchanter.

Depends on the campaign, but it would probably involve factotum and maybe some warblade.

I think a factotum//warblade (gestalt) is the perfect "adventurer".

Play a druid. Then claim I'm not a optimizing because I "took a class that doesn't even make use of my high stats".

Factotum, with either warblade or chameleon, depending on how I'm feeling.

Where's the fun in the game if there's no challenge to overcome?
