Ransei, a region shaped by ancient traditions and powerful spiritual beliefs. For centuries this region has carefully monitored their nation’s borders, with leaders carefully choosing who would be allowed in for trade and business. Due to their xenophobic nature the daimyos have advised their Emperor to remain neutral for political matters beyond the shores of Ransei, very much like how Orre remained neutral for much of its history. But times are changing and the new young leaders now believe that a political encounter with the rest of the world is unavoidable and that they must open their political borders if they are to survive as a nation.

Over the course last five years the pokemon league has been working to establish their presence on Ransei, an effort in which a certain elite ninja has taken great interest in. Janine led the charge, so to speak, on the front of forming an alliance with her ancestral homelands. The feat was made a little simpler when you factor in the detail that she had the support of two heroines, a Rosesong kunoichi and her rich wife.

With the recent breakthroughs the League had made with the Ransei government, a number of gyms have started popping up around the major cities along with a number of foreign travelers wanting to test their skill against the new budding league. More importantly this opens an opportunity for people of Ransei decent to finally see their ancestral homelands, which of course the greater clans have taken the chance to send in their own parties in.

While most clans are sending emissaries, Sylvia Rosesong intends to make the journey herself to handle her clans diplomatic matters. Through it is trip is a political one, she has decided it would be a perfect opportunity for her own children to begin their own pokemon adventure. Of course what is an adventure without friends? The Kunoichi reached out to her old friends and extended an invitation to their children as well.

The child of Damien and Rovi Black, Willum and his Cousin Edward Brooks. Seemed only right to invite them because of how close they boys were to her own children when they were growing up, although Sylvia did find it weird about Patty insistence to bring along to robotic being called K.A.S. They claimed that it was just a broken down mess when they originally found it doesn’t seem to be hostile, which Patty’s word was enough to vouch it.

Other invitation were sent out to those who weren’t so familiar with the Rosesong clan. One was sent to a boy by the name of Reg Melar, a child of a couple who had assisted the original egg bearers some time ago. The invitation was thought as a means of repaying the debt. The invitation was sent to a Weiss Atharva on the Sevii islands, along with little explanation of why. Although it had been clear that the Rosesong clan has had their eye on Weiss’ family for sometime and has taken interest.

With the invited all properly gathered, you all set out by sea headed for Ransei shores on board a Friedrich private yacht. With a only a few days at sea, you arrive at the Fontaine harbor and properly dock. Your scarlet haired host was the first one off the boat and to feel the Ransei land beneath her feet and you can all see the rush of pride in her expression to have set foot on Ransei.

The harbor doesn’t look too busy or crowded for the time being, though you do see other boats arriving with what seems to be more travelers in the distance.

So here you all are, foreigners in a strange land with a brand new adventure before you.

Feel free to start RPing now or doing whatever. You can assume you had introductions with each other on the boat ride

KAS spent the whole trip on a locked position, becoming an uneven cube like state that almost allowed for tinkering except for a few external parts. Soon after they had docked, the mechanical whirrs started up again, with one word being uttered: Awaken. He stood up, and looked around, recognizing the room and the... new weapon arm installed? KAS wiggled its fingers around, making sure they were all working, before connecting to the weapon, changing it to each mode. Regular. Cannon. Spray. He changed back to his normal mode before staring at William's bed. Empty. Damien's kid had already moved out. Sylvia was probably already out too. They were probably waiting on it. The odd one out.

It was time for him to leave the bunks again and face the harbor. To start what he was made for. To finish what the others had started.

He almost thought he wouldn't have been able to finish it. The task had taken longer than he'd expected, though that was more his fault really; he never was one to be satisfied with doing 'good enough', and when he'd first set his eyes on it he knew he'd have to do it justice. It had taken him most of the night to get it just right, but the lad was more than satisfied by the results. So it was that the boy now scampered across the deck with a cloth-wrapped pole in hand; navigating through the myriad of weary travelers disembarking or wandering through the vessel as he eagerly searched for the familiar white mop of hair belonging to his newest client and, hopefully, travel companion. Part of him worried about missing K.A.S. reawakening, but he knew he had little to worry; knowing it'd be child's play for the old metal lug to contact or find him if it wanted.

Now if only he could find the other boy...

Weiss looks over the ship's railing, Rameldria hovering just above his shoulder as he surveys the land before him. So this is Ransei... he thinks. It is a shame that grandfather couldn't come along for this... but at least I can be here to regain the Hideki honor in his stead... Footsteps off to the side draw Weiss's attention, and he turns his head to see one of the other boys approaching - the crafter, William. And he's holding a wrapped object... perhaps...

"Is that it, then? My grandfather's blade is reforged?" he asks William as the other boy draws near, excitement welling within him at the possibility of wielding a weapon once used by his noble grandfather.

As two of the others take to the surface, K.A.S. spots something weird. A rope, tied to the railings around the ship, is drifting into the sky. Looking up, he sees the other strange one of the group. The file reads as Reginald Melar, son of Anthony and Grace Melar, a pair of rangers in Kalos who had been helpful seeking out a major Rocket experimental facility. But that wasn't why he was strange, or his tanned appearance. No, why he was strange was because he was flying above the ship, idly dipping and wafting upon the breeze as he examined the new land before them all with a bird's eye view, blonde...well, not hair, more something akin to feathers, waving in the air, possibly hinting at genetic tampering as was common in Orre at the time due to Rocket activity. Which, admittedly, fit with the temporary disappearance of both of his parents during the investigation. As the vibrations of Kas's passing go up the rope, Reg looks down, and waves to the metal man.
"Will you look at that, bro? Didja ever imagine that you'd get to see something so cool?"
Like a leaf dancing on the currents, the surfer rides the currents down, circling the robot upside down for a moment, peering at the metal man closely.
"So how was the sleep? Guess you didn't want to get seasick or something?"
The other reason Reginald was the odd man out, like Kas, was because he was a complete idiot, unlike the robot.

KAS looks at the flying man, just staring. Stupid robots and their stupid lack of facial expressions. You could hear the mic open for a split second, before shutting off again. Whoever was on the other side didn't feel like it warranted any words. KAS just started heading towards the deck, meeting up with the others, not sure whether or not he should motion for Reg to follow along.

William beamed with a wide toothy grin, sharing the other lad's excitement as he closed the distance. Wordlessly the young smith flipped the wrapped pole unto it's side as he pulled out the cord holding the cloth together, and allowing the unveiling of the polearm speaking itself. The heirloom aglow as daylight danced across it's polished length and sheathe of the cobalt weapon; i's mirror-like length reflecting the excited gaze of the two boys like a tranquil pool.

"You tell me," he cheekily with barely restrained glee after a moment of silence, reverently holding out the heirloom towards Weiss with both hands so the heir could properly accept his legacy.

Reg looks a bit confused as KAS just plods off, even as he unties his lead rope.
"Was it my breath?"
With a shrug, he hops over the side, skimming and riding the waves as he flies to the docks, coming to a stop on the harbor near Sylvia and (I assume) Uldina.
"Sup? This looks like a fun place already, don't it?"

Weiss can't help but grin to himself as he takes the naginata, allowing the wrappings to fall aside. He runs his hand carefully over the polished handle, before pulling the sheathe off to unveil the blade itself. It will almost be a shame to tarnish such a fine weapon with blood... but I know that'll happen at some point. Besides... As he thinks to himself, he steps away from the railing to give himself a bit of room - stepping away from William at the same time - and begins a series of katas with the blade, starting with basic slices, thrusts and sweeps with the handle before moving to more elaborate maneuvers, twirling the blade around him with expertise. Finally coming to a ready stance, he nods before placing the cover over the exquisitely balanced weapon, and slings it over his shoulder. "Such a fine blade... it definitely deserves to be used, rather than being set aside somewhere. Thank you, William... if you need anything of me, simply ask and I'll do what I can."

As Will and Weiss are busy looking at the weapon, they fail to sense a dark figure approaching them. Before they can turn round, William feels pressure on his temples, as two knuckles are driven into his head, giving him a painful noogie.

'Hey, we're not here to use that thing on people, don't forget we're on a dip-lo-ma-tic mission. We shouldn't even need weapons.' Ed puts his arm over his cousin's shoulder. 'Besides, we're in a new region. Lot's of new places to visit, new food to eat, new girls to hit on. You know what Grandpa says? "Make love, not war. It's more fun, less risky and just as good an exercise." And I'm sure a son of an exiled noble is a juicy story to tell down at the local bar.' He gives his companions a goofy grin.

"Perhaps," Weiss replies to Ed, "but based on Grandfather's tales of his life here, combat and diplomacy aren't far removed from one another in Ransei. It's possible that things have changed since then, but... I'm skeptical that they've changed to such an extent. Still... even if it's not against other people, there are still powerful Pokemon within the wilds here - I'm certain I'll find a use for this at some point."

Sylvia looks over towards the foreign trainers arriving. "Indeed. Looks like the new gyms will have their hands full for some time. Certainly doubt there would any shortage of things for you kids to do." She commented before turning to look the young boy by her said. "I hope you and the others enjoyed the ride over."

The older Kunoichi then glanced at the small development happening on deck. She lets out a slight sigh has she watches Edward giving his cousin a painful noogie, but then her lips start to curl into a smile as she takes noticed a figure coming up behind the boys.

With no warning, Edward feels a sharp painful tug on his ear. "Really Edward? Still picking on William?" Uldina walks around the boys and gives the refurbished a weapon a quick inspection, impressed with the work, before turning back towards the others. "And Weiss is right about Ransei, at least about how it was anyway. Besides, having grown up on our parent's stories you should know to err on the side of caution giving what they've been through. Right?"

Will smiles widely, "Don't sweat it Weiss; it had good craftmanship, and it gave me a cha-"

Alas, whatever the young boy would have said would be forever lost in time as his words were cutshort by a pained cry; a feeling not unlike a weedle attempting to burrow through his skull demanding his full attention. "Gawdamit Eddie!" he cried in pain as he struggled to escape his cousins torturous grasp, knowing the the other boy had timed it so he couldn't just whack him with the polearm. Thankfully his torture was short lived, and it was not long before his favorite kunoichi came along to stop his cousin from getting another chance to mess with'em.

"Bah! I don't think it'll be that bad, I mean; the country's a lot stabler than it used to be right? 'Sides, just 'cause there's some nasty stories about the place doesn't mean it's not safe to walk-around at night ya know? I mean, Saffaron and Lavender have a pretty bad rep from the old days," William pointed out as he gave a wave in greeting to K.A.S. and Reg upon noticing they'd arrived as well. "Edie's right. Ed somehow wriggles out of Uldina's grasp, rubbing his sore ear. 'Hey, it's 'cos I'm looking out for him that I'm hard on him.' He shot Will a grin. 'Besides, if anything bad does happen to either of us, my mum will chew my ass out' he whispers as an aside to himself, shuddering slightly at the thought.

He reaches in and pulls his documentation from his bag. 'Ready when you lot are,' he said, not keen on being the first one off the boat.

Weiss nods, taking out his own documentation and covering the Naginata's blade before tossing it over his shoulder. "Absolutely... and William, thank you again for reforging this blade. Just bear in mind, whille it's not necessarily unsafe to move about here... Ransei traditionally has been a culture of honor, and combat has always been prominent here - meaning you should be cautious with your words towards those who actually look capable. If someone takes insult, it could easily escalate to a duel of honor here... unless things have truly changed so much since my grandfather's time." Reg looks over to the rest of the party, still hesitant about getting off the boat. With a loping stride, he lazily runs towards the boat before going into a crouching jump and flying onto the rail near them, landing lightly.
"C'mon, it ain't scary an' we got a whole region to run through. Let's soar confidently in our journey instead of get scared!"

As you all disembark from the ship, the group is quickly meet with what appears to be the harbor officials. They stop the group, requesting to see documentations and visas and whatnots required for travel. Everyone gets a stamp on their passports permitting official admittance into Ransei, with the exception of KAS. He got a series of questions and confused looks before Sylvia interjected and told them that the machine was hers and that it her daughter's medical assistance unit. It wasn't too removed from the truth and the officials were satisfied with the explanation.

One of the officials takes a good stare at Weiss' naginata and Sylvia's swords, but he only tells you a warning about drawing your blade in public. After everyone gets stamped through, Sylvia is informed that she's been expected at the clamperl's tavern. To which the Kunoichi nods, like she already knew this before continuing on, leading everyone through the streets of Fontaine.

Along the way, you pass through a fisher's market, some small parks that seemed to be designed for pokemon battles, as well as crowds of foreign trainers and the merchants trying to make a quick buck off them. Walking through, no one bothers your group, although KAS does get some weird looks. But before that amounts to anything, you all arrive at a high end looking Inn with a sign out front that read, "Clamperl's tavern."

"Of course she'd go for one of more classier hotels..." You all can hear the older ninja mumble to herself as she continues to lead you all into the Inn. Once inside, with a quick look around, most of you see a couple of recognizable faces sitting in one of the corners of the lobby. Ironically, the one that stands out the most to everyone, with the exception of Reg and Weiss, is Jayce, Uldina's younger brother. Sitting beside him, is a older blonde lady whom most of you should recognize as Sylvia's lovely wife, Emma. Beside her though... is someone covered in head to toe in a cloak. You all kind of wonder to yourself how this person wasn't the most noticeable out of the three.

Sylvia and Uldina stride over to the trio with the rest of you in tow. "It's about time you've all got here, was beginning to wonder if something happened." Emma sipped on a cup of tea before looking up at the group. "Gathered quite the bunch didn't we?" She smiled before looking over to Jayce, who handed her a briefcase that was previously sitting under his chair. "Well... shall we then?"

"Yes, but first lets I think we should take care of the surprise first." Sylvia glanced over to the cloaked figure.

"Ah right..." The two ladies are now looking at the cloaked figure expectantly and after a long awkward silence Emma coughs, as if to signal a cue.

The cloak finally shifts, showing some life under it. "Um, yes..." From under the hood you all feel unseen eyes looking upon each of you. "I am ready." The voice was definitely feminine and was very soft spoken. "I offer gifts for the young trainers. Come and let fate decide what you'll receive." A hand extended from the cloak and waits for someone to approach.

Yes pokemon are allowed out, so long as they behave and don't get in the way

Reggie can almost sense the smile from underneath the hood as the lady takes his hand and begins what seems to be a bit of a palm reading. "I know you all will keep these gifts safe, if Sylvia has gathered you all." She then finishes her palm reading. "How very lucky you are..."

"Mew!"

In a flash of a moment you all briefly see a small creature teleport in and right back out again, leaving only a silver perfectly balanced egg in Reggie's hand. "You have there a skarmory egg, breed from own stock. I'm quite sure you two shall soar together." As she finishes handing the egg over to Reggie, KAS' words causes the lady to have to suddenly freeze in place. She resumes movement again, when Edward attempts to look up her hood, and simply removes her hood to reveal a still rather young and attractive looking Alana Versa. "Yes, Edward it's your Auntie."

"Yeah somethings don't change..." Sylvia whispered, looking like she was reminiscing about something before it seemed that something unseen flicked her on the nose.

"No karaoke!" Emma smirked at her ninja wife, leaving the ninja children to looked puzzled as they were likely never told the story. Alana, however, was starting to blush as she reached for her hood again but stopped herself.

"It's good to see you boys again. It's been too long." She then reaches out to the next hand in the line. "But let us continue now..."

Mew!

Again a grey egg materialized, perfectly balanced in Weiss' hand. "For you, I believe a geodude can find a place on your team." She then repeated this for everyone else in line, each time with quick blur of something teleporting in and out.

KAS gets a slakoth egg

When the eggs were all handed out, Uldina looks at her egg. "Ah so this is just like how mom got Rocza."

Uldina scowled when Edward cut his joke and fled and was motioned like she was about to give chase, but her brother's hand on her shoulder stopped her from doing so. Instead they both just nod to each other and smile at the joker.

Alana smiled as everyone seemed to be satisfied with their eggs. "Well...let's see." She paused as if reviewing a mental note. "The eggs I've given you should hatch in about 3 to 4 days time. Now I believe Sylvia and Emma have something that they wanted to hand out themselves."

"Right, let's get right too it." Emma popped the briefcase open revealing seven black pokedexes. Five of which have the Rosesong clan symbol encrusted with silver on the front covers, with the remaining two having gold.

The dexes each start to float out of the case and towards their intended owners, with Jayce and Uldina receiving the golden encrusted dexes. "Now, we've taken the liberty of upgrading your pokedexes. From this point on they'll serve as your passports and documents needed travel through Ransei." Sylvia then looks over to her children. "I've already told you two this, but I'll say it again for the sake of the others and because it bears repeating." She returned her focus to the whole group. "By now you all should have gathered that Emma and I have decided to sponsor your challenge of this new league."

"Quite the privilege, really. To be among the first trainers paving the way for future trainers who come to Ransei."

"Right," Sylvia expression then became a bit more serious. "Now as you all more or less know, were here to help build relations between the Ransei government and the League. Most of that will be handled by Emma, Janine, and myself though meetings and paperwork and such..." You all can feel the total lack of excitement in her voice towards the end of the last sentence. "But as for the rest of you. You're our best foot forward, so to speak. As trainers, you're to prove yourselves worthy of challenging the Ransai league and by extension proving that future league trainers have a right to come and train here. So you all may go about this as you please, no pressure. Suppose to be a fun adventure for you kids, right? Now, bear in mind that each of your pokedexes has the emblem of my clan engraved upon them. There's a reason for this, besides them being a bit stylish. Because we are politically involved with the developments here and your sponsors, that means we, specifically I, are legally responsible for you all. That doesn't just mean that we're responsible if something happens to you, and trust me Rovi made it perfectly clear what would happen if something were to happen to you boys," she shot a smirk at Edward and William before continuing. "But it also means that we are held accountable for your actions."

"But this we're telling you this so that you know. So don't worry too much about it and try to stay out of trouble and you should be fine. This is just a formality, really, before we set you loose upon this region."

"Right, so just try not to blow up any karaoke bars." The elder kunoichi smiled, leaving her children to stare at her as if demanding to know what the story is behind that. "So any questions before we set you loose?"

He looks carefully at the map. 'So, if I remember correctly, Fontaine is a Water region, so the Gym is likely a Water gym? In that case, if I head up here,' he points to Greenleaf, 'I might find a pokemon useful in taking on the Gym. Well, it's not much of a plan, but it's a start.'

Weiss nods at Sylvia's comment, then turns towards Ed at the other boy's questions about the gym and replies, "Greenleaf and Violight would be the best kingdoms to find Pokemon suited for overcoming the challenges here in Fontaine, yes - though I might actually be well poised to take on the gym here myself. It depends on whether the battles are one-on-one, or whether more Pokemon would be used I suppose."

To Reg, he continues, "It's long been held as legend that the Ransei region bears the image of Arceus himself - another legend holds that Arceus will appear before the one who can conquer and unite all of the kingdoms within Ransei." Weiss ponders for a moment before continuing, "I'd say that's probably a large part of the reason why Ransei's warrior culture has persisted so much - those who believe the legend hoping for the chance to gain Arceus's favor."

"Yeah, unless my new little buddy here hatches before then Dani an' me are gonna have a hard time 'round Greenleaf and Fontaine," he reports with a slight frown, "So Violight sounds easiest for both of us unless things change,"

"Shouldn't be too hard I think; if ya let me I think I can have it set in a bit, if we go to the side for a bit," he kindly offered as he picked up the tail end of Sylvia's suggestions.

"Sounds like a plan then; we check out the gym, and decide where to head to from there," he summed up cheerfuly, while shifting through the pokedex's menu for ideas, "Just let me hook this up to Kas before we head out, 'kay?"

William finds it easy fixing the pokedex into Kas' system, albeit somewhat time consuming while making sure that the new hardware didn't cause any issues.

"Well, We certainly wish you luck on your travels." Emma finished her tea before standing up and giving Uldina a motherly hug. "You be good out there."

Most of you all can see Jayce roll his eyes at the signs of family affection. "Right...good luck sis. I'll be going with mom for a while to finish up some of my training."

"You boys play nice now!" Alana gives both William and Edward a kind but yet stern look before donning her hood, concealing her face once more, and getting up to leave with the other adults.

"Call us if you run into any emergencies." Sylvia added before leaving.

With little else to do after Kas' pokedex had been properly fitted into his system, your little group heads out to the gym not realizing that one of your group had already wandered away while the group was deciding what to do next.

Surfer dude!

Following the map and navigating, you eventually find your way to the gym. The building seemed stand out a bit, looking like it was very recently built compared to the surrounding area but still kept with the traditional appearance. In honestly, it looked more like a small castle than a gym with it's gated walls surrounding the outside.

The entrance of the gym had a guard posted on each side of the gate. They seemed to be fairly relaxed, only eyeing the occasional passerby, and let you by with no problems. Once inside you see trainers battling the gym trainers near the many Koi ponds around the courtyard area. There are a few gym trainers standing around making idle chat in their native tongue as the observe the battles.

Even with your lag behind Reg and dilly dallying, the group manages to catch up with the wandering suffer fairly quickly. The walk over to the gym was uneventful, though your arrival seemed to have made the guards become more alert with the presence of your robotic companion. They don't move to stop you but they watch you closely as you pass through.

Once inside the gym's courtyard you find Reg standing around watching some of matches in progress. Soon after, some of the gym trainers who were previously just standing around idly approach the group.

"May we help you?" The first trainer spoke in a very thick Ransei accent. The others that followed him poorly hid their laziness at the prospect that they might have to actually work.

Once the others get there, they notice Reg putzing around with his pokedex, excitedly scanning anything he can first. Seems he got a little distracted. Then the person speaks up, and both he and David are a bit surprised when the trainer speaks, causing him to fumble with his brand new pokedex before David manages to catch it.
"Oh, uh, hi. Uh, yes, is it possible to find more information about local pokemon here? I've always had interest in slowpoke, and figured the water gym was one of the best places to start seeking one out."
After a brief pause, Reg looks around to them, breeze beginning to play among the group as he thinks about what to do.

"As for your request, Reggie." He paused to think about for a moment. "Some of the river fishermen say that slowpokes can sometimes be found along the shores of the rivers outside of the city. They say that they mark good spots to fish. You could try looking around there."

He then motions for the group to follow him into the interior of the gym. After passing through a hall decorated with pearl statues and fountains, those who followed the man come to a large room that was mostly a pool with a long path way thought the middle and small platforms scattered though out the water. The water appear to be a deep blue, making it difficult seeing the bottom, other than that you notice decorative water plants floating around.

"Welcome to my gym." A voice comes from the opposite end of the room. Looking towards the source of the voice, you see a girl who appears to be in her late teens but with white hair. After a moment you realize why you didn't notice of her immediately. The way she was dressed, in her blue and white kimono, she blended into the into the room rather too well.
