Can one run to the fore gain full cover from full frontal attack and trip attack of opportunity any beasties trying to get by?

What weapon would one use for this?

Would it be worth dropping shield depending on circumstance?

However, you can instead use it as total cover, though you must give up your attacks to do so.Attacks includes attacks of opportunity as well.

Would it be worth dropping shield depending on circumstance?You can only remove a shield as a move action, so only on your turn. Most of the attacks on you happen outside of your turn, so it would be better not to take the shield in the first place.


Any other thoughts from the playground?There are no good one-handed trip weapons AFAIK, so if you want a shield, you will need an animated one.
