Is there a pre existing progression for the firbolg? If not can some one help me figure it out?

You mean a Monster Class, that kind of thing?

There isn't a preexisting progression, since it's an obscure monster out of MMII. You'd have to put together your own, I'd compare to the various giants in Savage Species.

yes monster class , I have always had a fixation on these guys and was just hoping there may have been a hand book with pre done monster classes and that maybe the firbolg had a bit of a fandom.

Nah, except as a form for polymorphers (very high Str for its size and HD), firbolgs don't really have much of a fandom. Most people don't even know they have fluff beyond just being generic giants. So unfortunately you'll probably have to create the progression yourself.

I'll do it for you, if you want. I'll need a bit of time, though; and if it's alright with you, I may cut out some of the LA (I don't think 5 LA is necessary, really, especially when joined with the 13 racial HD.

Here's my attempt (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=18185500&postcount=6).

I tried to keep as close to the original MM II creature as possible, but there are a few differences; namely, I gave it three extra class skills, reduced its LA from +5 to +2, and gave it bonus languages to learn. I hope that's acceptable. If anything is missing/needs to be fixed, let me know and I'll make the change.

Honestly, +5 LA? What were the designers thinking....

They weren't; LA on high HD creatures (especially when the racial HD sucks) doesn't really work out. Honestly, I think even +2 LA sort of stretches things a bit.

Yeah, it would have been smart if there was some kind of consideration for the type of HD in the LA calculation, since I'm pretty sure there wasn't. 1 outsider HD =/= 1 giant HD. Not even close.

I was going to suggest that, but upon review I don't like it much. It's horribly written, it gets you up to gargantuan rather than Large by introducing new contradictory fluff, and you suddenly gain an animal companion at level 9 with your druid level equal to your class level (I think; like I said, it's horribly written) that can't improve past 12. I'm not exactly an expert on monster classes, but even I could work out something more true to the source material and still balanced.
