Favorite low level enemies

Just like the title of the thread says; what are your favorite low level enemies to either throw at your players as a DM/GM or to fight as a player? And if you have any memorable stories, please do feel free to share! :smallbiggrin:

Other adventurers. I've got some real sociopaths on my hard drive of all levels, including several in epic territory.

I don't use them all the time, or even that often. But my players never know who they might run in to or what they're capable of.
