Chicken Infested is, while being as close to TO as a flaw can be, great. The downside? You can't use it if you aren't a commoner. So why not use any of those variants?

The base idea is slightly different. Your spell component pouch contains all material components required for spellcasting, including the following. You draw one as a free action, then drop it in an adjacent square. Your component pouch is still assumed to contain the components, so you can repeat the trick indefinitely.

-Termite Infested (Wood Rot)

-Leech Infested (Pain)

-Firefly/Glowworm Infested (Fire Shield)

-Spider Infested (Spider Climb)

-Cricket Infested (Sleep)

-Fire Ant Infested (Acid Sheath)

Have fun flooding the universe with sentient beings without having to take a useless level of commoner!

Great idea! But why stopping with vermin infested? Why not tiny tarts and feathers infested? Is there actually a list somewhere with all the components you can draw from a spellcasting component pouch?

I loaded up DnDTools with only wizard spells with a material component from core or supplemental 3.5 sources - no setting-specific stuff, in other words.
I got 672 results. A lot of them are probably duplicates or have expensive components, but that's still a lot.

Let's start, shall we?

A pinch of wool or similar substance (Daze)
A bit of wool or a small lump of wax (Ghost Sound)
A firefly or a piece of phosphorescent moss (Light)
A miniature cloak (Resistance)
A bit of dried glue (Stick)
A drop of sweat (Touch of Fatigue)

A dead cockroach (Accelerated Movement)
A flint arrowhead (Arrow Mind)
A drop of babau slime (Babau Slime)
Three glass beads (Bigby's Tripping Hand)
A block of wood, less than 3 inches on a side (Blockade)
A dab of honey (Buzzing Bee)
A pinch each of powder or sand that is colored red, yellow, and blue (Color Spray)
A pinch of soot and a few grains of salt (Comprehend Language)
A miniature bronze gear (Create Trap)
A pinch of some odoriferous spice (Dead End)
A bit of earth from a grave (Detect Undead)
A drop of blood (Discern Bloodline)
The dried wing of a fly (Distract Assailant)
A pinch of powdered black gemstone of any type (Ebon Eyes)
A pinch of powdered iron (Enlarge Person)
A tiny golden needle and a strip of fine cloth given a half twist and fastened at the ends (Familiar Pocket)
A pebble inscribed with a stylized fist design (Fist of Stone)
An ice cube dropped into water (Float)
A bit of pork rind or butter (Grease)
A pinch of rotten meat (Horrible Taste)
A few drops of water made from melted ice (Ice Dagger)
A grasshopper's hind leg, which you break when the spell is cast (Jump)
A handful of ashes (Kelgore's Fire Bolt)
A bit of horse hair (Mount)
A little powdered silver with which you trace a 3-foot -diameter circle on the floor (or ground) around the creature to be warded. (Protection from Evil)
A scale from any fish (Quickswim)
A pinch of powdered iron (Reduce Person)
A pinch of unscented candle wax (Remove Scent)
A drop of honey, molasses, or pine resin (Resinuos Tar)
A scrap of parchment and a pinch of tinder (Scholar's Touch)
A thin black cloth (Secret Weapon)
A pinch of fine sand, rose petals, or a live cricket (Sleep)
An oil-filled hourglass (Slow Burn)
A pinch of white flour (Snowdrift)
A piece of fire-blackened ivory or bone carved in the shape of a segmented worm (Spirit Worm)
A silk glove (Spontaneous Search)
A drop of hardened tree sap, which must be eaten by the caster (Sticky Floor)
A drop of mercury (Tenser's Floating Disk)
A small piece of copper wire (Thunderhead)
A piece of string and a bit of wood (Unseen Servant)
A piece of parchment folded into the shape of the weapon type desired (Weapon Shift)
A drop of water (Wings of the Sea)

I think that should be all the 0th and 1st-level spells. Someone else can feel free to do some other spell level - there's a lot of spells.
Also, one thing I disqualified was Low-light Vision since a candle has a defined cost in the PHB.

So wizards already have free food and water forever, and infinite powdered silver...
Also, free building materials (stone, wood, glass).

And it's weird no vampire has ever gotten the idea of just harvesting all the blood he needs from his component pouch.

This is wonderful! For some reason I completely forgot that you could search spell by components (verbal, somatic, material...) in d&d tools. One of these days I'll probably compile a full list for a major artifact based on the spell component pouch, but this is a really nice start.
