Alright the title should explain it all. I want thoughts on viability. Pros cons. How to optimize such a thing.

I'm thinking of convincing my gm about this by i want an idea of how it could work before i propose the idea.

VoP gets massive amounts of flack here, no matter who is using it, mainly because of fiddly little details (can't use a healing item to heal a dying ally) and the broader issue of not being able to make use of magic items that people expect you will get as the game progresses.
