Um... explain why you like what d4s or d12s? In regard to what? HP? Damage? Number of wishes gained?

Sorry, but I really have no idea what your trying to ask/start a discussion about here.

It's kind of a favorite class thing, like, magic missle (d4) or great axe dmg (d12) Sorry if I confused you, my speech giving skills aren't that great:smallamused: and it dosen't have to be between those two, it can be any class

I prefer d4 if you have to roll it, because it hurts more when you get 1 on d12 the when you get it on d4.

Me: Why do you care what you roll for HP?
Friend: I need the HP.
Me: It's a d4. You're a wizard. If someone manages to hit you, you die.
Friend: True. But no one's gonna hit me.
Me: Erase that number. Put 1 for your HP.
Friend: I can take some hits. I can roll a 4. I did so twice.
Me: Your last wizard got punched out by 2 goblins!

WHile this is true, it hurts MUCH more when rolling initiative or doing skill checks and getting a natural 1

I think I like d12's a little more than d4's because when you lose a d12 and find it with your bare foot you won't have to wash the blood-stain out of the carpet.

I prefer the bell-curve of 2D2 over the D4 and the distribution of 1D8+4 over the D12. I substitute these all the time :smalltongue:

I have much love for the d8. As the dice go, it's my favorite.

I have a beautiful model on top of my TV... a d12 with five d4's inscribed inside. (OK, so it's a dodecahedron and five tetrahedra... same shapes, just no numbers on them.)

I like the shape of d12 probably most of the all dice, and rolling d4 in a way that makes it tumble around can be hard sometimes. So 12 for me.

True, but a d4 is also useful for pushing those tacks into a hard surface like a wooden wall. But me, I like the d12. Those pentagon-sides just make me all shivery.

Besides, nearly nothing is as satisfying as rolling a 12 for HP.

Can you really call the action of throwing a d4 on the table "rolling"? Doesn't it, for the most part, simply go "clunk" and stop after one or two sides touch the table? You've gotta roll d100s or higher to really get a "rolling" feel. But since that's not an option, I'll go with d12. :-)

Rolling d12s for damage is more satisfying IMO (but then again, I'm usually rolling d12 for HP at those times...)

My favorite class: whatever I'm playing today. (is that better Brettoe ;-)
My favorite die: well. . . I like making the other guy die for his. . .cause.
But I like rolling d12's. They don't get much love, and so when I roll them they treat me well. ;-)

You do realise these are not the same right?
Ok, the 2D2->1D4 is only 0.5 higher average, and gives sort of a curve.

But the 1D8+4 is 2 points higher o average than the d12, and it's distribution is exactly the same as any other 1DX roll.:smallconfused:
(Unless you meant 1D8+1D4)

Personally, I'm a fan of druids, fighters and clerics, so I like paladins a bit, but I don't like being a snobby paladin like :miko: I like being kind of like Hinjo

and my favorite dice is the d10 or d6

All I think of when I see d4s are Magic Missile, which really pisses me off. I don't like the spell, and everyone in my group yells at me for not taking it.

d12s, on the other hand, are awesome. I use a greataxe any time I'm a martial class which needs a stick.

Personally, I like the d300 I bought at the local gaming store a couple of years back. I've only used it once in a game.
Of the choices given, I prefer the d12 because one of my friends dropped a bag with about a kilo of them in on my floor. (He bought them in bulk weight. I have no idea why)

All of these are valid d1's:

1) a sphere. It's all one side.

2) a mobius strip. Again, all one side.

3) a two-headed coin. "Heads is one." (Same applies for two-tailed.)

A properly thrown d4 does most of its tumbling in the air. Throw it up with a twist, and let it fall where it may. Epic d4 rolls might end up stuck in the ceiling; in that case count it as a 4.

I love the d12. I always wind up doing something stupid at one point or another where the DM rolls about half of the assembled dice for damage against me. I like to be able to simply check off that number and keep playing. I once managed to take 40 damage at level 3 and still be on my feet. Besides, d12's are really easy for me to pick out in a huge pile. So warblades and barbarians are the usual classes I play, having played the latter much more often, obviously.

EDIT: I had to quote you blackleaf. Hope you don't mind.

As far as classes go, I love the rogue class. Yay for lots o' skill points.
As far as dice go, I'd have to say that d8's are my favorite as they seem to roll good for me when I use them, and hat d6's since I seem to get a disproportionate amount of 1's and 2's on them.
