Xykon's Crown (Spoiler)

Roy still has Xykon's crown on a thong around his neck. Do you think Xykon will try to get it back? What does it do?

I am almost 100% sure that the crown will have some story arc about it later. There is a reason it has a strong evil aura.

Or it could "end" with Xykon in Roy's body. I haven't looked at liche rules since 2nd edition, but back then, the liche did not regenerate a body - he possessed a new one near to his phylactery.

But...Two phylacteries would be created so that if one was destoryed, Xykon wouldn't automatically die. just take a Hell lot of damage.

Multiple Phylacteres was a topic I raised once on the Wizards' forum (thanks to Harry Potter 6), and it is indeed possible. They even quoted me official material were a uber-lich used 100 different phylacteres, one of them being a grain of sand in a whole desert...

So, I think the crown would indeed be Xykon's other phylactere, or maybe something else... what about the crown of the Evil Regalia, from the Book of Vile Darkness?
