Durestral dragons are interesting creatures which coexist simultaneously on the Plane of Shadow and on the Prime Material Plane. As a result of this, a durestral dragon is both hard to strike and difficult to damage.

Durestral dragons' scales start out dark slate gray, brightening as they age to a stormy blue-gray. Their eyes are always luminescent white, and they have four primary horns on their head: two sweeping back from their nose, and two sweeping back from behind their eyes.

Durestral dragons are not true dragons; rather they are pseudotrue dragons. That is, they are related to true dragons and act as they do in many ways, but are not actually considered one of the ten breeds of true dragon. This is partially due to their extraplanar nature, but also due in part to their diminutive stature: durestral dragons are smaller, as a whole and by several orders of magnitude, than true dragons of the same age.

Combat
Durestral dragons are wary and conniving creatures, especially when they get older. Mnay will find ways to hinder or even kill their prey without ever coming near, whether that be through the use of traps, minions, or magic. However, they are not cowards and will fight to the death when threatened.

Shadow Mastery (Ex)
A durestral dragon gains a +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls if both it and it sfoe are in an area of darkness or shadow illumination. While in a naread of bright light, durestral dragons take a -4 penalty on attack and damage rolls.

Light Vulnerability (Ex)
A durestral dragon is treated as an undead creature for spells that deal damage with the (Light) descriptor.

Breath Weapon (Su)
A durestral dragon has one type of breath weapon, a cone of cold. However, unlike most dragon's breath weapons, a durestral dragon's breath weapon has a secondary effect: anyone caught in it must also succeed on a Will save or be subject to a number of status effects. Roll a d10 and consult the following table on a failed roll:

{table=head]Roll|Effect
1|Dazzled
2|Fatigued
3|Sickened
4|Blinded
5|Deafened
6|Stunned
7|Paralyzed
8|Confused
9|Shaken
10|Roll twice, ignoring further results of 10[/table]

This effect lasts for a number of rounds equal to half the dragon's breath weapon damage dice.

Other Spell-Like Abilities
At will - dusk to dawn (wyrmling or older); 2/day - killing shadows (juvenile or older); 2/day - languor (adult or older); 1/day - voyage into shadow (old or older); 1/day - shadow landscape (ancient or older); 1/day - shadow time (great wyrm)

Mysteries
Durestral dragons do not cast spells as sorcerors like other dragons do. Instead, they use mysteries (see Tome of Magic) equal to a shadowcaster of the appropriate level.

Skills
Diplomacy, Sense Motive, and Bluff are class skills for durestral dragons.

Special
A durestral dragon's deflection modifier is halved against durestral weapons. Despite having the Extraplanar subtype, durestral dragons are immune to banishment effects, since they coexist on two planes at once.

Durestral
Durestral is a dull gray-black metal of startling resiliency. It is found primarily o nthe Plane of Shadow, though it can occasionally be found on the Prime Material near areas of frequent planar-warping magics. Durestral can be forged using magically enhanced fire into weapons or armor of interesting properties.

Weapons made of durestral weigh half as much as normal and are ocnsidered masterwork. A durestral weapon also has its normal hit points and five additional points of hardness.

Weapons made of durestral coexist in the Prime Material and in the Plane of Shadow simultaneously. Creatures with damage resistance find this to be difficult to resist and are treated as having damage resistance three points lower than it iactually is when resisting damage from a durestral weapon. Weapons made of durestral cost an extra 3000 gp.

Similarly armor made of durestral is half-normal weight and is considered masterwork. Durestral armor also has its normal hit points and five additional points of hardness.

Armor made of durestral coexists on the Prime Material and on the Plane of Shadow simultaneously, which alters the armor's armor bonus. Half of the armor's armor bonus (round down) is converted to a deflection bonus. Armor made of durestral costs an extra 1000 gp per point of converted AC.

Nice work. And I would very much like to know whos artwork is that,I simply loved it.

And maybe you could consider hide as a class skill with partly being in plane of shadows thing. And maybe being able to see in magical darkness?
