Stats for insect mount?

A race in my campaign setting uses large insects for mounts. Sort of like wingless mosquitoes. What stats do I give these creatures, so they can be taken at lvl 1 and function as other mounts? Are there any published creatures in Pathfinder that would fit this purpose?

Giant Mantis doesn't sound too bad for your purposes. Take away the wings, perhaps.

Insect creatures are generally vermin or aberrations, since make them being mounts abit annoying. When I used insect mounts I just reflavoured horse stats.
