In 3.5 are there any RAW rules to determine the distance to a target? Assuming no vision blockers.
For instance if I'm casting a spell and want to know how far away the creature is for the purposes of spell range.
Is spot appropriate? At what DC? Even at DC 0 spellcasters would have a very difficult time determining if medium range spells can hit.
