Yea.. So if baleful polymorphed then awakened what happens? Stat bonuses then cancel polymorph? Is bad critter now friendly? Is friend now cheese?

It pains me to say that baleful polymorph was heavily errata'd. I'm not sure if you know this, but thought I'd mention it, as my memory seems to indicate that the errata cut down on all sorts of clever ways to use the spell.

We're pretty much talking core only so probably get away with something once before dm squashes it. Then again I did get produce flame discharging when character touches the ground with his paws...

Baleful Polymorph changes the creature's type, so yes, this works. Polymorph isn't cancelled by Awaken, and Awaken does automatically turn the target friendly, but it might become unfriendly in short order once it realizes what you've done. :smallwink:

And yeah, getting Awaken on a PC by any means is super cheesy.
