..And after the fight, everyone turned to you. Albert had been turned to stone, Bethany had half her levels sucked away, Carina was blinded and deafened and paralyzed, and Dolph had been poisoned so many times, he could not even move. Elena fell over, dead. Franklin bemoaned the curse that had been layed on him, and Glinda muttered about having been ordered by the villain to report for duty.
..But at least everybody's HP are okay.
What are the other options available for a character who can patch this kind of thing up as soon as it starts being a problem, instead of 'in a couple levels, i'm hybrid'?

Basically any full divine caster: Cleric, Druid, Favored Soul, Healer, Shugenja, Spirit Shaman. Also Apostle of Peace or Ur-Priest. Ardents or Psions can do fairly well, as can Bards and, to a lesser extent, Dragon Shamans.

Also anyone who focuses on UMD and has the right wands and scrolls around.

For most conditions scrolls are the standard remedy.
For most battles you don't need them. When you need to cure poison/negative levels/ability damage/etc. you often need several castings, so even the classes who can cast the necessary spells usually don't prepare them and just carry a few scrolls of the various spells around.

Remove Curse is an exception because it usually requires a certain CL, so scrolls are generally not enough. Most curses can wait for a day until the divine caster can regain spells though.
The only status-removing spells worth preparing are generally Heal and/or Panacea, because they take care of a wide range of conditions.
