OK, so a major, recurring villain who managed to cunningly evade, steal from and escape from my PCs a long time ago is going to come back soon as a surprise to give the pc's another chance to defeat her, and I want it to be a grand re-entrance. Anyway, the point is that I want a miniature to represent her and unfortunately, as a female grimlock werebat who wields an orc double axe no pre-made miniature exists that I can use. I need the name of a good custom miniature producer or (though I doubt this highly) the name and producer of a mini that would suit her appearance, anywhere suggested would have to deliver worldwide or to Sydney, Australia because that's where I am located, any and all advice appreciated!

Why not just convert one?

A custom sculpt will probably set you back a whole lot. Reaper minis (http://www.reapermini.com/) are probably the best be to find something close to match without mods and they have an extensive catalogue to choose from. The figure finder allows you to search their figures by weapons/race and more. Tin Soldier in the city (Market st) stock them- though they ship to Sydney no problems.

Look up the Dragoneye (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/mg/20031219a) set (for the Eye of Gruumsh, and a Grimlock) and the Underdark (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/mg/20051103a) set (a Grimlock Barbarian that you might prefer, and a Dire Bat). Use some ingenuity to get the Eye of Gruumsh's axe into the hands of one of the Grimlock models; use the Dire Bat for when she's in were-form.

Ask for a custom avitar on the arts and crafts board, print to scale. Not terribly grand, but possibly more easily achived.

Thanks for the advice, I guess I'll have to convert one which will probably be difficult as I haven't done that before. If anyone knows a good custom mini making website and/or place here in Australia or that delivers to here please tell me about it I don't mind if it's expensive, this is a one-off surprise extravagance deal so I don't mind it costing a bit, plus the NPC is a favourite of mine.

Here's a couple ideas, using Reaper figs:

The Bat Lord: http://www.reapermini.com/gallery/necropolisu/14011_G

This doesn't look especially "feminine," but how "feminine" does a grimlock-dire bat look anyway? This fig seems bestial enough, has the right musculature, and the batlike features.

As for the weapon--

The easy way would be to clip off the blade in the figure's hand. Use some clippers or a jeweler's saw if you have one and know how to use it. Then file same blade as necessary and glue it to the bottom of the already existing greataxe on the model, and you've got something resembling your double axe.

Slightly more complicated: very carefully clip or saw off all the weapons. Get a pin vise--this is a small, handheld drill used to put small holes in things. In the hand that was holding the axe, drill a hole the width of a thick paper clip through the hand. Put a paper clip, brass rod, or toothpick through the hole--this is the pole for your new weapon. Make sure it's the length/height you want it to be. Glue axe heads to the top and bottom--you can use the blades that you clipped off or find some appropriate ones in a weapons pack such as this one: http://www.reapermini.com/gallery/warlord/14056_G_001

If you're feeling especially fancy, get some green stuff (Kneadatite Blue/Yellow Epoxy putty) and use it to fill in gaps and sculpt details on the custom double axe.

If you don't like the Bat Lord and want something that's more identifiably female, I'd go with something like a female warrior like this: http://www.reapermini.com/gallery/revenu/14195_G

This one's an orc. I don't think Grimlocks have the orc teeth, so I'd carefully file the teeth off. If she should have wings, you can order wings (such as those that come on the Bat Lord above) from Reaper's Boneyard from the Online Store there--just glue them to her back and use green stuff to smooth it out.

Again, clip off her weapon and in her weapon hand do what I instructed to make the double axe above.

I'd offer to try to do it myself, but I live in the States.
