So I was wondering how crafting a continuous item of stoneskin would work. Continuous seems like it would be always on but how would that work with the it can only take 10 x CL in damage before wearing off. Would you have to reequip it or what? Also if I were to make it continuous the rules say if the spell has a material component cost to determine the price as if the item had 100 charges so I guess that would be 7 (caster level) x 3 (spell level) x 2000 (continuous) + [100 (as if it had 100 charges) x 250 (material component cost)] = 67,000 gp?

An oft-missed part of continuous is that the spell's duration determines a multiplier to the cost (it's hidden away in a footnote on DMG p. 285). Stoneskin, with a duration of 10 mins/level, multiplies the cost by 1.5.

Or, use the much cheaper command-word item. 1800 GP x spell level x caster level, with no multipliers. And then you don't have to worry about the damage pool; you can just reset it between encounters.

Oh yeah I forgot about the 1.5x. I was figuring that the on command would be easier to deal with but even still I'm curious how continuous would work.

Lucky for you the command-word version already exists (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/a-b/belt-of-stoneskin).
