Maybe it had started as a joke, but in the time since she'd brought it up at the mall, the idea of a cooking contest had been solidifying in Kyoko's head. Organising a time and getting everyone together had been tricky, but she was finally there, with a fully stocked kitchen and everyone ready to take part. She'd had a lot more experience with Callum's cooking in the weeks leading up, and every meal he cooked seemed to be a new demonstration of his skills. It was a little worrying, but he was seriously outnumbered. Callum could beat a whole team of the girls, could he? It was only for fun, but it'd sure be embarrassing if they lost.

"Alright, are we ready?" Kyoko called to make sure she had the attention of the gathered group. "Okay, we've got sixty minutes to prepare our meals, Callum against us girls. The food will be taste tested at the end, and all dishes must include the theme ingredient. I got Soga to choose it, so there can't be any bias!"

She looked over to him, cuing him to announce the ingredient. Of course, Kyoko had been checking the deliveries to the dorm this past week, so she was certain she knew what it was going to be...

Soga had prepared for this moment. He had also noticed Kyoko sneaking around the dorm's shopping list. He had decided, then, to throw a curveball at her.

Reaching into his cargo pockets, he pulled out two bags of tiny white crystals.

"Seasalt! The theme ingredient is seasalt!"

It wasn't quite a rare material, but it would be fun to watch people try to make such an insignificant seasoning central to the recipe...
