For the low, low, price of a social trait, and selecting an evil cohort, your cohort can be within one level of you (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/traits/social-traits/wicked-leader-social).

I just get the feeling that someone out there is playing with this, and the DM is just thinking of ol' Starscream...

3.5 has had it for years, courtesy of Improved Cohort feat from Heroes of Battle.

The vile leadership (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/general-feats/vile-leadership) feat from the same book might be relevant here, too. It has fluff requirements (organizations that must exist for you to be part of), though.

Too bad this overlaps, not stacks, with Noble Scion.

Eh, the Noble Scion PrC eventually gets a Cohort=Level, and I really don't see Cohort=Level+1 being a good idea...

The Vile Leadership feat mentioned in the trait is hilarious - you get bonuses for acting like a campy Evil Overlord.

"You have failed me... THIS IS THE REWARD FOR FAILURE!" *drops minion into crocodile pit* +1 Leadership!

Well yes, but what evil villain worth his doomsday device doesn't have a crocodile pit?

One who follows the advice of the Evil Overlord List?

Luckily, crocodiles are pretty accessible as minions (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/animals/crocodilians/dwarf-caiman). :D A character I'm playing now almost took one as their familiar.

Or ones without ranks in Profession: Chef. I mean, waste not, want not, amirite?

"You will do what I say Mr. Bund, or I shall give you to my crocodile chefs to be made into pies and fed to human orphans!"
