hi guys i need a well documented town of 2000 ish people that exists in 3.5 faerun to use in a campain im running. any suggestions?

Waterdeep has its own book. Ravens Bluff has one from a previous edition and I'm sure others do too.

I don't know about Raven's Bluff, but Waterdeep is way too large; iirc, it's over 100K people.

I had spotted phlan on one of my googling sprees. and liked that it had a map premade that i could use/spruce up.
It also has some religions stated which is nice gives me something to work with. will check out the source books its in as well.
Skull port looks interesting too and its under water deep which is where i was thinking of having my PCs graduate to if this new campaign goes well.
its a pity that loudwaters map given in the 4e material is way smaller than you would expect for a town of 2000 and they helpfully forgot to say which deities are worshipped.
so current plan is to research phlan more.
