Hello giants :) .

I am currently playing a seafaring campaign with some friends. I am an Elf generalist wizard, lawful evil, Imp familiar. The DM is letting us choose an artifact that we can quest for. I am turning to the forum wondering which artifact would be best for a wizard of my proclivities.

I recommend the Head of Vecna (http://www.blindpanic.com/humor/vecna.htm). The Hand or Eye may also be acceptable substitutes.

I asked about the nether scrolls. he is only dropping one of them, not a whole chapter. a free level up isn't bad but i feel I could do better.

There are second edition rules for them, but the DM will have to homebrew 3.5 rules. They are basically an uber-powered telkiira, see Lost Empires of Faerun.
