So I'm running a pirate campaign and I want to add in an element of reputation. I want it to take into account number of people killed and number of witnesses purse a random element. I was thinking that the number of people killed, with killed prisoners counting as two, times number of witnesses times a d10. Does anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone attempted this before?

You are magical, didn't realize this was already a thing

I'm not sure if this will work well for what I'm trying to accomplish though. It would be good for a typical campaign but I need something a bit more in depth

Has anybody used the official Reputation variant? How'd it go?

I've used the official PF reputation variant before, which seems to have been inspired by this. Looking at it right now, I like the pf reward system better...rewards for high notoriety are flavorful and useable. (Mostly)

The 3.5 version seems nicer regarding keeping a low profile though, so take that as you will.

That's the one. Thanks for the link; on a mobile atm.
The ideal, I think would be a hybridization of the two systems, but YMMV.
