Many 1st ed. monsters were converted to 3e in Necromancer Games' Tome of Horrors (http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/3019/Tome-of-Horrors-Revised?it=1). The sandman is one of them. There is a 3.0 and a 3.5 version of this book. You'll probably want Tome of Horrors Revised, that's the 3.5 version.
