Is hills a scary movie or just splatter porn? Which do you like?

In my opinion the first one was just splatterporn, really lame plot. Terrible script and bad acting... but that's pretty much a staple of splatterporn movies. I realize that these movies are only about viseral entertainment but I don't care for it.

Scary movies are kind of fun but those are different, Pyscho was scary (for it's time) without being gory. I'm not against gore but I find it pretty dull and usually so silly it's more comical than scary. Like when people get cut in half look around for a minute then slide into two pieces.... LAME!

The ring was a good scary movie.

The sequel is about a bunch of mutant freaks killing a squad of Marines. Marines. What the ****? Some mutant hillbillies kill a squad of trained soldiers with ****ing chainsaws. That's not scary, that's ridiculous.

I find that the term "splatter porn" fits perfectly.

If that's not what it's about, forgive me-I only watched the trailer, because there's no way I'm going to see a movie as horrible as the trailer looked.

I saw the original (70s) Hills have Eyes, and that was okay I guess. I didn't see the recent remake of Hills, because I figured I had already seen it once, and kind of doubted I'd like it any more. Maybe they'd make the guy with the mustache cooler, but they'd probably go more explicit with the rape/murder stuff, and that wouldn't be cool. I can imagine gruesome things, and can hate characters who do them without having to see that kind of thing. Also, blonde kid probably wouldn't have done a random back handspring in the remake, and that's just a terrible waste of film.

When I saw the trailers for Hills 2, where they show a well equipped group of marines firing at a range of no more than a six yards at a single moving target with fully automatic gunfire and MISSING my eyes rolled so violently that now I'm being treated for whiplash. I'm certainly not seeing it.

Well, that bit in the trailer where the thing is licking the girl's face is actually very creepy. Well, more disgusting, I guess.

It makes it believable for several reasons.

1.They arn't marines
2.The're national gaurds
3.They are not fully trained
4.They have on clip of live ammo.
5.The mutants never win in a face to face fight. They pop up from holes and drag you in and stuff like that.

I refuse to use that word(its stupid) but, honestly there isn't really much to see and you have TMNT and 300 to see. I would pass.

"Listen, Ripley, these guys are the best of the best. They have state-of-the-art equipment, these are some bad hombres..."

thats a wait for dvd for me (I have to see every "horror" movie ever made for some reason)... splatterporn is accurate though.. not that there's anything wrong with that ;)

Um yeah. Speaking as a Marine, that wouldn't happen. On so many levels that just wouldn't happen. No way to attain a suspension of disbelief there. They don't teach, "One shot, one kill" for nothing my friends.

These were never trained marines.
