As you stroll up through Springcliff's northern exit, heading onto Route 25, you see slightly ahead of you the first group who ran out of the academy after the graduation. From a quick observation, it appears they just finished up a battle against a few wild Pokemon as you spot a smokescreen starting to fade in one of the patches of long grass. All of them seem to be holding a second Pokeball now, while some of their Pokemon are panting and seem like they were hit.

Raising his eyebrows, Matthias' brooding temporarily takes a backseat to his curiosity. "It looks like you've already found yourself a challenge!", he called out, rushing up the path a little bit to put himself closer to the smokescreen and the group. If he were extremely lucky, these three would be going his way for at least a little while. The issue with finding dinner would take real importance in a few hours; while the trio certainly wouldn't have been his first choice in traveling companions, perhaps they would be generous enough to help with a meal?

Idly unclipping a Pokéball from his belt preemptively and holding it loosely in his left hand, he waved at the travelers with his right. Perhaps there would still be a Pokémon left to examine? (What Pokémon frequent this Route, anyhow?)

Rolling to see if Matthias can determine what Pokémon might be lying in wait!

Matthias will move to J-7 and try to look around when the Smokescreen clears up.

The only knowledge you can pull up confirms that Pidgeys and Zigzagoons are common for this path, while the Lillipup was an odd sight, and certainly not a very common find.
