Why do potions weight 1 pound? If it's something you can drink it less than 6 seconds, that's a pretty darn heavy liquid.

I'm playing Icewind Dale 2, and for my weaker party members, it seems odd that they are weighed down by a few curative potions.

I didn't see any official weight for them on the d20 site.

The weight of a potion vial is 1/10 pounds and contains 1 ounce of liquid... So it shouldn't weight so much...

Well your obviously drinking liquid metal

Ya honestly they should be like a 1/4 lb. Those vials are small.

Yeah, there's no evidence they weigh 1 lb. in D&D. Icewind Dale probably has a minimum item weight or the like to deal with.

That's probably it, but some items, like scrolls have no weight, so it seems a bit arbitrary.
