Counterspell vs Innate spellcasting?

I know there was a rule on this in 3.5.... but does any rule exist in 5.0 where you can't counterspell an innate caster?

No such rule that I'm aware of, since other than the name "Innate Spellcaster" that some monster have there is no difference between monster casting and PC casting.

Some pc races also have innate spellcasting, so that's not even a difference.
