Traitor's Gambit (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPZWF-IlgjM)

It is a dark time in the galaxy. The Evil Galactic Empire has spread from the Deep Core to the Outer Rim, and everywhere the Empire's tyranny can be felt.

Fleeing from the oppression of the Empire's minions, agents of Senator Bail Organa have run to a remote space station aboard Brentaal. Known to be a vocal opponent of the empire, Organa may be the last hope of freedom in the galaxy.

In the hope of stopping these dissidents before they can reach the senator, the Empire has alerted it's forces on Sel Zonn Station, where the struggle for liberty rages on, and the sparks of rebellion have begun to turn....

Seemingly Motionless among a sea of starships and satellites above the twinkling world of Brentaal, Sel Zonn Station grows larger in your view every second. A central pylon forms the bulk of the Station's mass, and three landing pads leading to docking bays extend from the central section, equidistant from each another and jutting out into space. The dorsal side of the station features a disc-shaped secondary structure, on top of which blinking lights indicate the presence of a landing platform reserved for wealthy patrons.

The shuttle ferrying you touches down on one of the pads and swiftly pulls into the docking bay. On arrival however, a cadre of stormtroopers with an imperial officer meet you at the landing pad. The captain of the shuttle quietly goes out to speak with them, being handcuffed by the troopers and led away. The officer leads you and the other passengers out, simply saying. "Enjoy your stay on Sel Zonn Station. A new pilot will be arranged before the scheduled time of departure."

The landing bay funnels into the Promenade, a large commercial area in the core of the station. Filled with stalls and it's always busy. The Promenade is filled with the bustle of revelry and commerce. Spilling out of the gambling halls are the sounds of victory and the moans of defeat, while the music of local bands issues from the cantinas. Only a handful of citizens mill about in the main areas of the Promenade, a few gazing out the massive windows at the planet Brentaal hovering below. Business people hawk their wares to the passersby, and a few Imperial stormtroopers make their way down the main avenue of the Promenade on their usual patrol at a leisurely pace.

A Gungan in a golden jacket followed Pivo off of the shuttle and likewise witnessed the collection of the pilot by the troopers. He too could only imagine what offense the pilot had committed to warrant such an immediate and public arrest. He turned his head away, pretending to look back at something along the wall, as the white-clad officers escorted the man away. When they had passed, he turned back to find his charge had already chosen a destination. Typical.

Kopa made up the difference in just a few paces and fell into step toward the cantina. "The weather does not concern me," he said in perfect Basic as the duo walked past another set of peacekeepers. His voice sounded hoarse in comparison to the humans in the area, but he did not appear to have any obvious difficulty speaking. He glanced back at the troopers. "The game wardens, though. We should mind them."

Talia Zendu freeze upon seeing the stormtroopers. Oh no.
Although she feels reluctantly relieved that the Imperials had not come for her, Talia feels pity for the shuttle captain. What did he do to deserve this?

As she steps off the shuttle, the young Lethan Twi'lek scans her surroundings, before heading to the cantina. One of the disadvantages of speciesism is that aliens tend to look the same, especially in a crowd, and the cantina is the perfect place to blend in.
Hiding out in the cantina will be somewhat of a test of patience however, for Talia is thirsty and she is out of credits...

Talon had made his way to the cantina straight off the flight, having found no alcohol during his trip. He got the feeling he would be sitting here for awhile; if the buzz around the room was correct, there were Imperial Stormtroopers in the area, and they tended to be thorough when searching suspicious people, and people in longcoats always look suspicious

Taking another sip of his drink and looking around, he saw a pretty young Twi'lek enter the bar. His eyes widened and he looked at his drink, studying its contents, before looking back at the Twi'lek.

"You're either incredibly brave or incredibly stupid..." he muttered to himself.

Dun-Vi watched as the others left the area, allowing them to go about as to avoid the crowds. Did she ever hate crowds. Stepping down the metal framing of the shuttle exit, the last of its occupants stretched in relief of being free from the confined quarters. Removing her hood from off her head, she took note of the aliens of the now-hanger-locked shuttle.

'Already going for a drink? Typical'. Having no need for inebriation, the woman pulled aside long fabric of her robe to reveal wrist mounted computer as she casually leaned against the nearby wall. 'Maybe there is something here of use to me. I would hate to have this be another waste of time...'

A woman with short black hair and the greasy uniform of a mechanic comes stumbling onto the Promenade, clutching her midsection as though injured. She struggles to make her way across the floor in your direction, though clearly she is having difficulty walking. “Please, help me,” she calls out to you. “There are credits in it for you, just help me!”
Mere seconds later, two stormtroopers burst into the area from the south end of the Promenade. They raise their blasters, aiming them at the woman, and shout through their helmet speakers, “Step away from that woman. She is under arrest in the name of the Emperor!”

A firefight could kill this woman. Her wounds are already noticeably severe and the troopers give no illusion of mercy in their tone.

The promenade empties as quickly as the blaster fire started, leaving only a spare few trying to save their goods from the struggle. Merchants cower behind stalls and those unwise enough to stay take cover inside stores or the cantina.

You notice two men standing about, not concerned with the imminent fight. They appear to be whispering to nothing, a sign of a hidden comlink, and both carry hidden blasters that your keen eyes barely spot under their coats.

Dun Vi watched disgruntledly as the pair of stormtroopers caused a ruckus following the injured woman. Was it really so hard for the imperials to show some mercy and discretion? Flexing her false metal arm, she knew that was to much go ask for.

"Damn Soldiers, cant I get ONE MINUTE to relax before all hell breaks loose" she said under her breath, working her way over to the room the ruckus was located and peeked inside.

Seeing the severely injured woman, Vi knew the situation required her attention. Screw discretion, she was doctor!...Sort of, and that required her to help those that needed it. Even if that meant crippling a few corrupt military uniforms. Aiming her wrist mounted blaster at the stormtrooper to her left, she fired a single blast in the hopes of hitting the man's leg.

Kopa watched the scene unfold nearly in the blink of an eye. The room began to clear, and he was content to let what was happening continue. He felt for the woman, he really did, but there was no sense in trying to stop the stormtroopers. In all likelihood, it would only result in more innocent people being hurt. Even Pivo was in danger, and his credit chip with him. He stared at the woman, begging for help. His eyes refocused on two men behind her, and almost immediately he began to pick out what was wrong about them. Coats, concealed weapons, hands-free communications. Who were they? Plainclothes Imperial officers? The uncertainty only gave Kopa more incentive to leave. He took Pivo by the elbow and began to drag him off when the blaster went off.

The sound jumpstarted the Gungan's heartbeat. He covered Pivo with one hand and his blaster's grip with the other. The blast had come from someone in the crowd. Suddenly not thinking very straight, he grunted to Pivo, "Yousa stays." In a few long strides he was next to the injured woman as the rest of the crowd reacted to the shot. He grabbed her arm and began to tug her urgently away from the fray, putting his own body between hers and the stormtroopers.

Kopa moves to the injured woman and uses Harm's Way. Anything that targets her should attack Kopa instead.

The woman's call for help draws the Twi'lek's attention away from her thirst.
She knows that she has to save that woman. It might be risky, but it's the right thing to do.
At first, Talia almost reached for her lightsaber out of pure instinct. No, that's too dangerous with all these people around. Instead the Padawan grabs her stun baton and switches it on, and as she does so she notices the two suspicious and armed men in the cantina. Although they may be a threat, the woman's predicament is more pressing.
As the crowd clears, Talia knows what to do.

The Twi'lek runs up to the nearest stormtrooper and swings her baton at him.

Dun-Vi's shot scores the thigh of the left trooper, causing him to fall to the floor, but the other manages to deflect a stun baton with his armor's vambrace. The two men in identical coats draw blasters and attempt to fire, but Pivo shoots one dead between the eyes before he has the chance. A lucky shot, to be sure, but the man falls.

As blasters began sounding off around the room, Kopa grunted into the woman's ear, "Yousa needen to stay down." A bolt of light shot past him and crashed into one of the coated figures across the room. He man crumpled to the ground, and Kopa realized that the shot had come from Pivo. He glanced over at him with some admiration. Who knew he had it in him? Just as he looked, Pivo was leveling his blaster on the other man.

By now, they were in the thick of it. At first, Kopa was just protecting some (likely innocent) woman. But now they had killed at least one person, Imperial or not, and there was no point in trying to get out of it. Contorting his body around the woman, the Gungan drew his own, much larger blaster. In a fluid motion, he positioned himself between the other coated man and the girl and fired his carbine from the hip.

Pivo's second bolt hits the other man in the chest, causing him to fire his blaster wildly into the ceiling instead of anywhere important. After the second common-clothes man lies dead, Kopa fires a rather unsuccessful shot at the trooper since his initial target is no more. The bolt flies wide and misses the stormtrooper completely, who in turn fires his rifle at the gungan, but Talia's closeness prevents the shot from making it's mark.

The stormtrooper is the last enemy remaining.

Dun Vi watched as her target lay crumpled on the ground, glad to see that the adjustments to her blaster went off without a hitch. Looking about the room, she noticed that others have joined the fray to eliminate the other officers.

'Glad to see the woman is out of harms way.. Now lets finish this off so I can get to her side' The woman pondered before redirecting her gun arm towards the lone officer. "DROP THE GUN OR I'LL SHOOT!"

As Pivo's blaster bolt shoots past the trooper's head, he drops his blaster rifle and drops to his knees. His hands come behind his head, the universal sign of surrender.

The woman looks nearly about to collapse, barely muttering "Thank you." Her voice raises as she proclaims "Follow me. Quickly, we have to hide before more arrive."

She hobbles away towards a hallway, motioning for you to follow.

Kopa grabbed Pivo by the shoulder of his garment and began to push him firmly in the woman's direction. As they exited, some of the crowd that was still gathered cheered them, while others grabbed some of the belongings of the fallen imperials.

"Mesa sorries aboudat," he began to Pivo. Getting involved in the situation was clearly not his prerogative, and it put his client in grave danger. "When da shooten started, mesa couldn't leave it. Now wesa gotten no choice but to be followen disa lady."

He looked over at the other two people that had been involved. One was a Twi'lek with a stun baton (though it hadn't done her much good). The other was a human. She was the one that started it, he remembered.

Well then, that got interesting fast" Dun Vi said with a nervous laugh, gesturing to the woman and then further down the hall. "Lets keep moving, the sooner we find a dark place to hide the sooner I can get those wounds treates"

Talia switch her stun baton off and secures it in her belt. I miss using my lightsaber...
Seeing the injured woman having trouble just standing, the young Twi'lek walks up to her.
"Hold on, let me help you!" Talia places her arm around the woman's waist and the woman's arm around her shoulder in order to support her weight and help her walk. The Lethan keeps up a good pace and goes where ever the woman wants them to.

"...And now they're going to catch us!" his voice beginning to take on a slightly frenzied quality. He heaves again but this time nothing comes out. His lung pods continue to swell and contract rapidly.

"Just because the Empire's after you doesn't meant that they'll be able to capture you" Talia speaks up in an attempt to calm the Neimoidian. "Trust me. I know."

Kopa was just about to reassure Pivo that everything would be alright when the Twi'lek woman spoke up. She knows? Who is she? A fugitive, clearly. Is that the sort that the duo had fallen in with? Criminals? The Gungan had little love for the fledgeling Empire, but many of its laws were still just. Smugglers and pirates were not the kind of people that Kopa felt comfortable dealing with. Still, for the moment there was a common purpose: escape. But he assured himself that he would not allow the relationship to last longer than it needed to.

First things first. Escape. He called ahead to the injured woman, who evidently knew how to get them out of this predicament, reverting to Basic, "Who are you anyway? And where are you taking us?"

Dun-Vi does a quick run-over of the imperial's equipment as the rest hobble away, but a quick jog puts her back to the group quickly.

There are two utility belts each with one medpac, two encrypted comlinks (Though I wouldn't suggest taking those), two hold-out blasters, and two blaster carbines.

In response to the gungan, the woman simply says "My name is Maya. I'll explain more when we're safe."

The woman thanks Talia for her assistance and leads the four to a small living area off an maintenance hallway. She takes a seat on a jutting piece of bulkhead and appraises her own wounds momentarily. She sighs, before looking at the four of you pointedly. "I'm not going to be back on my feet without surgery... or a bit of bacta. I promised you credits, but I can't give them to you here." She pauses moment before continuing "I don't have many credits on me, but I work for Senator Organa of the Alderaan sector. I'm a member of Alderaanian security, usually part of the Senator's personal security detail, and I was here to recover a bit of cargo that is very important to us and make sure it ends up on Alderaan, though I can't complete my mission now."

A scowl touches her otherwise pretty face as she remembers her experience. "The imperials waylaid me as soon as I touched down on the station. Apparently working for a vocal opponent of the Emperor is enough to get arrested these days."

She grimaces as she stands, rummaging around in a footlocker before pulling out a datapad and handing it to Talia. The datapad shows a very fancy droid with the name "Switch" who is apparently in deep storage bay V14. The woman speaks up again after giving you a moment to read the pad. "Tell the Senator I sent you and, if you have the cargo, he'll pay you incredibly well. Switch knows how to find it."

She waits for any questions, finally stopping long enough for you to get a word in.

Kopa looked at Pivo. Glared at him really. He had no interest in getting involved with something like this! Maybe these people weren't the smugglers he initially took them for, but being political enemies of the Empire was even worse for one's health. Surely they had all heard of the purges of officers from the fleet, yet they all agreed to climb on board with this Maya woman at the drop of a hat, solely on her word and a few lines of text on a datapad. The Gungan opened his bill to protest to his benefactor about the situation but found himself unable to do so. As a hired man, little was it his place to make decisions for Pivo. And the Neimoidian had for all practical purposes saved his life just a few minutes prior.

But this was a dangerous game, and Kopa could not stand by without saying something. He touched Pivo on the shoulder and whispered in his ear, "There is a great risk here. I understand your conflict with the Empire, but this sort of thing could get you killed."

Kopa stared back at Pivo until the Neimoidian turned away to look over the Twi'lek's shoulder. Free to leave. That would be the day. Well of course he was free to leave. But being free to leave certainly did not mean that he could leave. What compulsion was this need to stay? He squinted one protruding eye at Pivo before leaning back against the wall, arms crossed.

Maya looks inquisitively at the two whispering parties, but obviously thinks better of asking what it's all about. "Thank you for all your help. I'm sure Senator Organa would be happy to meet all of you once this is over..."

She looks to Dun-Vi, who has noticed a pair of blaster wounds in Maya's midsection, and states for the group "It's probably going to take a bit for me to be back up again. Feel free to rest and relax. I know it's not much, but it's safe; nobody comes back here."

The humble living space has little in the way of comfort, but it's far enough out of the way that the bustle and noise of the Promenade is nothing but a memory at this point.

{An hour passes}

Maya and Dun-Vi return from the secluded corner of the hiding spot, Maya grinning as her anesthetic hasn't fully worn off yet. She excitedly states "Time to move out. I know the way to Bay V14, but I confess I don't know much about it. We can head straight to Switch, unless you've got other things that need doing."

In the interim hour, the group of travelers for the most part traded introductions and small talk. For his part, Kopa told a few stories about growing up in Otoh Gunga and flying in the Naboo Starfighter Corps. However, he did not go into the details regarding the timing or nature of his discharge from the service, and he gently sidestepped the question when asked. Once Maya was ready to go, Kopa stood and made himself ready to follow. He instructed Pivo to stay close to him, but did not grumble further about the dangers of the mission.

While Dun-Vi tends to Maya's injuries, Talia and the others talk and introduce themselves.
The Twi'lek listens with great interest to the party's stories, but once it is her turn to share her story, Talia is hesitant at first of revealing who and what she is.
However, seeing as they are all now enemies of the Empire, the Padawan let them know everything; her life growing up in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, her training under Jedi Knight X'jan Fayar during the Clone Wars, how the Empire turned against them at the end of the war, and of the past months that she had spent constantly on the move in order to stay hidden and alive.
Sharing all of this for the first time felt like a great burden had been lifted from Talia's shoulders, and she found herself struggling to not cry.
Talia close her eyes and takes a deep breath. There is no emotion, there is peace.

Once Maya is ready to head out, the Lethan stands up. "Alright. Lead the way."

Dun Vi listened with interest to the other's stories as she went about her work, frowning as what she suspected was her turn came nearer and nearer. Sighing, the woman began to summerise her recent life as he the final stitching was being done. About how she was involved once involved in research and development department of an imperial lab, specialized in cloning techniques and cybernetic augmentation. How, when she was prepared to shift into a civilian medicine, the empire held her daughter hostage. How it all hit is unfortunate conclusion when the experiment she was forced to work on created uncontrollable monsters of men, killing the supervisors, the scientists, and her daughter. Its where her arm went aswell, being crushed in the falling debris during the havoc.

Since everyone is fully ready, Maya starts to lead them down into the less populated area of the station. The storage bays in this area are run-down and in need of repair; whole panels of wall are missing and some seem haphazardly patched together. While not uncommon for a space station, it's still mildly discomforting.

As you get close to your destination, the door into the bay is blocked by a pair of Gamorrean guards wielding vibro-axes.

The state of disrepair barely fazed the Padawan, she'd seen both ships and stations in similar conditions, and she knows that such areas are usually safe. Usually.

The gamorreans look at each other and then back to the twi'lek, grunting a couple times in their language before one jabs a finger at the door, suggesting that you are allowed to pass.

The deep storage bay is as run-down as the hallways leading up to it, with entire metal plates missing from the floor and a huge, open exhaust shaft near the back of the room. Large crates litter the area, creating the appearance of a haphazard mess, and the air has a distinct smell of sweat and fumes that makes the entire area unpleasant.

Flickering lights provide modest illumination, and a burst pipe along the ceiling leaks blue fluid down one wall. Near the center of the room is an item that seems very out of place—a large, finely crafted deskmade of Japor ivory wood, which means that the desk is both priceless and rare. Sitting peacefully behind the desk is a protocol droid with shiny, ebony coverings that seem to soak up light and offer only the slightest reflection. The droid’s eyes flicker slightly, as though imitating a person blinking rapidly.

Despite his apparent surprise, the protocol droid waves a hand to invite you in, warmly saying "Come in, come in. I do enjoy visitors. Would you like a spot to drink? Oh, where are my manners..."

He stands from his chair and does a slight bow before calmly stating "My name is Switch. The astromech to my right," he gestures to a quietly burbling red-and-blue astromech beside him, "is R5-B8, my partner."

Kopa followed Pivo through the doors into the storage bay, casting suspicious sideways glances at the Gamorrean guards. When nothing went amiss, he eased up a little (but only a little). He stiffly followed the group through the compartment. The smell of physical labor and industrial waste was unpleasant, but not something he was unaccustomed to. In fact, it rather reminded him of some of the ratty hangars from which the Iron Cesta had operated. A welcome, if bittersweet memory.

As the droid, Switch, introduced itself and its companion, Kopa circled the fine wooden desk. He had little interest in the nature or quality of the desk. Instead he scoured the perimeter visually, watching for any obvious signs of trouble.

After Pivo had introduced himself, the Gungan gently raised his hand and spoke up with a croaking, "Kopa." He made a show of peeking around the corners of some of the larger crates, his right hand lingering near the blaster at his side.

"Thank you." Talia responds politely as the Gamorrean guards allow them to pass.

Entering the storage room, the Padawan takes a brief look around. As criminal hideouts go, this certainly looks the part.

Talia approach the two droids and offers a courteous bow. "Pleased to meet you. I am Talia.
"And a drink would be wonderful." The Twi'lek really meant that, she hadn't had anything to drink for hours.

Maya gratefully accepts a drink as well, though she seems nervous about this whole deal.

Switch cheerfully proclaims "Excellent! Just a moment." He reaches below his desk for three of his snifters and a delicate-seeming bottle containing caramel-colored liquid. He sets the glasses in front of you, all the while saying "You're in for a treat. I don't have visitors much, so this Chandrilan brandy goes to waste here. I assure you it's the finest thing you'll get on Brentaal, much less Sel Zonn."

Everyone notices a large twi'lek standing off to one side, a blaster openly worn on his hip. Switch makes an off-hand remark, stating "That would be my majordomo. He's not the talkative sort."

The R5 whirs and beeps, seeming to remind Switch of something. "Yes, there is that matter of business." He looks over your group, stating "No one comes to me without a need of something. What is it I can find for you?"

Kopa turned away from the hidden goons back toward the center of the room, where Switch sat at the finely crafted desk. As he turned, Switch was introducing the Twi'lek standing on the opposite side. Who was this droid? What was he? An independent droid was rare enough, but this one had a group of armed sentients at his disposal. At least that explained why the Gamorreans outside had let the group through without any trouble. The real security was inside. All in all, this group didn't seem like they were law abiding citizens. Just the sort of people Kopa did not want to be involved with. He considered alerting the others to the presence of the gunmen, but decided to keep it in his pocket. He had no way to show them without letting Switch on anyway.

Better to get it over with quickly. "We're looking for a piece of cargo, bound for a senator from Alderaan. We...haven't bothered to find out what the cargo is, but we were told you would know the piece." He shot a look at Maya. Part of him wanted to know what the cargo was, in case Switch needed it specified. Another part preferred the deniability of not knowing.

Maya catches your look and adds "It's a hunk of carbonite."

Switch pauses for a moment before realizing what it is you're talking about. "Oh, that. Yes, I know where it is and how to get to it. The problem here, is that I work for money."

The R5 unit burbles at you all, Switch translating for him. "We can assure you the information you need for the eminently reasonable sum of one thousand credits."

Maya's jaw drops and she states "That's outrageous!"

"Not outrageous, and it does happen to be my fee."

To Talia, Maya's response to Switch's price is cause for some concern. Don't tell me that she brought too few credits...

"I'm sure that one thousand credits should not be a problem for a Senator to pay." The Padawan eyes the Alderaanian woman.

Maya sighs and whispers back to Pivo "Alright, but if we have to bribe a pilot just remember that I'm broke."

Maya clears her throat and calmly says "Very well, Switch, if that's your price I'll pay it." She reaches into her uniform pocket and hands over a handful of credits after counting them in her hand. As she goes to put them back, you all can note that she has only a few decicreds left.

Switch happily exclaims "Excellent! It's wonderful doing business with you. The cargo you need is in the main docking bay of Blue Deck."

Maya sighs again, this time more audibly. "That's where the Imperial Loyalists like to gather."

"Correct. It's also one of the few places on the station where sanctioned imperial ships will dock. You might find that any nonhuman walking around is likely a servant or slave. Not a friendly place."

Shortly before the credits are handed over, you notice the thug backup leaving the area.

Switch deposits the drained glasses back where he got them, but stops mid-way and stays completely still. "Oh, that isn't good at all."

The sound of a hail of blaster-fire erupts from outside, followed by the guards squealing their last. A large chevin bursts into the room, followed by an entourage of thugs, yelling loudly in Basic. "You thought you could hide your deal with the offworlders from me, droid? I'm tired of not getting my cut! Turn him into a scrap heap, boys!"

The thugs all have blasters drawn. It seems this fight is unavoidable.

Kopa listened nonchalantly to the negotiation as it proceeded, giving his attention instead to the goons lurking around the cargo bay. Once Maya finally agreed to Switch's terms, he noticed as they retreated and exited the room entirely. It seemed almost choreographed that way they left and some new goons came in. These however clearly did not work for Switch. The leader was calling out the droid for doing business with Kopa and his cohorts. They were after Switch, but there was obviously not going to be any consideration given to the organics. There was no getting out of this.

He tried to remind himself that these were probably just more criminals as he drew his blaster, that this was self defense as he took aim at the Chevin leader. He shouted out, "Pivo, get behind something!" Regardless of his own safety, he fired the first shot.

Ganga Lor takes a blaster bolt to the chest from Kopa's shot, causing him to grunt in pain but his thick skin allows him to keep moving and get into cover behind a torn up shipping container. He can't completely conceal himself, and he yells "Start killing them, you dolts!"

Switch's majordomo draws his blaster but his shot is ineffectual as it scores one of the back walls.

The thugs, however, all open fire. Four of them score shots on the desk Switch and Pivo are hiding behind, one misses a shot at Dun-Vi, and one each score hits on Talia and Kopa.

Kopa takes 15 damage, Talia takes 12

It's now Talia's turn.

Talia grunts as the blaster bolt hits her.

And things were going so well.

The Twi'lek quickly considers the situation and comes to the decision that it would be far too dangerous to rely on her blaster or baton. Thus Talia grabs her lightsaber from its concealed holster and ignites it.
Wielding her purple-bladed weapon of choice, the Padawan takes a defensive stance.

Kopa nearly crumpled over when a blaster bolt from one of the Chevin's goons' blaster grazed his side. A lesser being could have been killed by such a blow, but not a Gungan! Heeding Switch's instruction and ignoring the flurry of shots from the muscle, the Gungan took aim across the room. He glared down the sights of his carbine at the head of Ganga Lor, which was peeking out from behind a metal storage crate, and pulled the trigger.

Pivo had a point. Switch's men had left at a very inopportune moment, as it turned out, and they hadn't come back. Why leave while Maya and the others were still around? Why not return when the sounds of the blastfight started? No time to figure it out in the moment, though. Instead Kopa just interjected, saying, "They left!"

Ganga Lor falls backwards as Kopa's blaster shot burns a hole in his shoulder, Pivo's shot puts a new patch of carbon scoring on the wall, and Talia's ignited lightsaber attracts the thug's fire. She dodges a bolt, deflects three, and the other fires wide in his shock.

Switch's Majordomo fires his pistol again and hits a thug dead in the chest with the bolt. The wounded thug falls to the floor.

Nobody could hit anything this post, apparently, aside from the twi'lek.

Speaking of, it's Talia's turn.

Talia's slash catches a thug off guard, giving him a cruel burn from shoulder to hip and felling the man. Dun-Vi pulls a blaster carbine from her pack and sets it to autofire before laying into the group of thugs.

Switch takes the time to take a shot at one of the previously uninjured thugs and catches the unlucky man in the knee.

Talia has knocked one unconscious, Dun-Vi wounded four, and switch downed a fifth. The four wounded are all that remain.

Kopa and Pivo go next.

Pivo goes to yell out the demand for surrender, but is cut short by the sound of blaster fire. You watch the shots tear into the men and afterwards all of them lay either dead or dying. Switch drops his blaster on the desk and starts a slow clap. "Well done, I'm impressed."

Switch calmly puts the hold-out blaster back in his desk before sitting down in his chair again. "Now, now, be reasonable. I've had clients come to me with tales of ordinary vendors getting them arrested in an imperial raid just for being in the shop. My business isn't strictly legal and you knew that before coming to me. Any danger accrued by being in this bay isn't part of my business at all."

He pauses a moment to let his words sink in before adding "I do thank you, however, for eliminating that nuisance. I will be dealing with my security later, as your help shouldn't have been necessary. The fact remains that I would not be here right now had you not interceded."

Despite his cold demeanor, you get the feeling that this cruel businessman might be willing to help out more in thanks.

Kopa had holstered his weapon and was examining the scorch mark on his abdomen with a grimace. Another blast like that would be extremely hazardous to his health, he reckoned. Maybe the woman with the medical background - Dun-Vi? - could patch him up. This whole situation was turning out almost as badly as he had feared. Injured, on the wrong side of the Empire, and caught in the middle of a gang war. His face was fairly sour when he responded quietly to Pivo, "They were in the room when we arrived. Hiding. Left right before the shooting started."

The R5 unit that was hiding behind a crate comes out and whistles at Switch, causing the droid to sigh. "Despite my companion's objections, I can help keep the imperials off your back. I can... bend the rules this time and make it so that any commotion that may occur on that deck is 'overlooked' by authorities for a short time while they are concerned with more pressing matters."

The R5 says "No, They're on their own."

Maya chips in by saying "That might help if we're caught trying to get the cargo off the deck. I can try to find a pilot while you locate the cargo."

Talia watches and listens in silence to Pivo and Switch's exchange. While the Padawan finds the Neimoidian to be a bit too harsh, she cannot help but to admire his negotiating skills.

"Yes, let's go." Talia replies to Pivo before turning to Switch. "Thank you for your assistance, Switch."

By the time Pivo turned back around, Kopa was gently patting down the pockets of the sentients he had just killed, looking in particular for any credit chips. He also examined their clothing. He had been able to gun them down fairly easily, but if any of them had anything protective in nature, he wanted to know. Or rather, the stinging wound on his side wanted to know.

He held up one finger just as he was wrist deep in Ganga Lor's garment. Addressing Maya, he said, "I can fly whatever ship you have. You do have a ship?"

Kopa, looking a little perturbed that Maya did not already have a ship waiting in the wings, gestured to the fallen Chevian. "What about him?" he called over to Switch. By the guds, they had been through a bit of an ordeal saving his hardware, and Kopa seemed content to milk it for whatever he could get. "Does he have a ship?"

By the way, do any of those goons or Ganga Lor have anything of value?
