Hello,

So apart from classes that use Truespeak I.E "FiendBinder" what use on its own does it offer?

The truenamer class obviously and some spells require the use of a true name for fluff reasons.

IMO it has no real purpose. Maybe if it was usable to give you a bonus in HD for Planar Binding? Maybe it would be more worth while. As it is? Absolutely not.

Ah cheers, thanks for the information ^_^

Truespeak does have some uses, but only those who know enough about truespeak (pretty much just Zaq) can do them well. The strongest use I've seen mentioned is as a pretty threatening opponent for the PCs because it makes law of resistance much less painful, and things like a reversed word of nurturing are very difficult to negate.

Level 2: Make checks without needing to roll
Level 3: Make +5 DC checks without needing to roll.
Level 4: Make +10 DC checks without needing to roll.
Level 5: Make +15 DC checks without needing to roll.
Level 7: Use quickened utterances without needing to roll.
Level 8: I’m sure you can find some purpose in the voluntary addition of 25 to your truespeak check.

Things not related to your truespeak check:

Level 1: With some careful use of Universal Aptitude, Guidance of the Avatar, the Book of Vile Darkness, Wish, and midnight, destroy cities or bend entire cultures to your will. This is possible without having to make a roll at any point in the proceedings.
Level 1: Using slightly less cheese and still the Book of Vile Darkness, make an utterance dealing 6d6 points of damage.
Level 1: Replicate the effects of the level 4 spell Freedom of Movement.
Level 1: Opponent cannot move, no save.
Level 4: Sacrifice/wish trick becomes a lot easier.
Level 4: Shoot stuff you can’t see, through walls. There is no miss chance for doing so.
Level 4: Anyone in range makes a free attack when you utter at them; possibly swift action to activate.
Level 7: Make an utterance dealing 4d6*1.5 damage/round for 10 rounds; your choice of energy type so can be sonic.
Level 10: With a bunny, dispel epic spells with a DC 16 check. Alternatively, un-dispel any spell that gets dispelled.
Level 12: The level 7 trick is now AoE.
Level 14: See everything on the same plane as you, and get true seeing as an added bonus. Hit anything, anywhere with a ranged attack.
Level 15: Trap someone’s soul in a non-existent weapon. They can only be freed by breaking said non-existent weapon.
Level 18: Be ethereal; you can attack things as though you were corporeal. Both effects last forever.
Level 18: Reducing all the opponent’s saves by 5 doesn’t sound like much, but remember that everything you do is a swift action.
Level 20: Gate at will.

That is what truespeak does.

All that without even being a Truenamer? Damn, that's an underrated skill for Experts and Factota to abuse..

No, that's all with being a Truenamer. It was mostly just the less underwhelming utterances, with occasional cheese, as far as I could tell.

use it to get a wizard to unname a PC to make them cry

You can booby trap your true name. You can modify that booby trap so it's worthwhile (I like stuff like cursed and bile damage to make it really stick). You can then kill the only few other people who know your true name, creating the secret of it. Gods of secrecy suddenly know your true name – and take damage from the booby trap. Bye Vecna!

Experts/Factota can do the first and fourth level tricks, but they have to blow feats on Minor Utterance of the Evolving Mind and for the fourth-level tricks Lesser Utterance of the Evolving Mind, and given that you already want three feats and to be an illumian rather than a human at first level, you should probably just, y'know, be a truenamer.
