Need help determining price for a ring of enlarge person and ring of mirror images.

Doesn't seem correct to me that a ring of enlarge person would be 4k gp and base price for ring of mirror images would be 10,800.

Comparing it to the Belt of Growth in MIC is the best guideline because you should first compare the custom item with an already existent one. The Belt gives the effect of Enlarge Person 1/day for 10 min and costs 3000 gp.

If we reverse the equation, we have that this same item, if it were a simple Command Word item, would cost 15000 gp. So that's X*1800 = 15000. Which makes X approximately 8.33. For a continuous item, the price should be X*2000*2, which equals 33320 gp

If these are command word (standard action) activated, then the prices per 1/day are 1,800/5=360 gp and 3x2x1,800/5=2,160 gp. Durations are 1 minute and 3 minutes per the minimum caster level. A higher caster level costs proportionally more.

At-will activation would be 1800 gp and 10,800 gp, but I wouldn't necessarily allow that since they are buffs. Always-on without being activated would be 2,000 x 2 = 4,000 gp for the ring of enlarge person. Mirror image would be 3 x 2 x 2,000 x 4 = 48,000 gp. But I'm not sure how you'd handle refreshing from destroyed images then. If you strictly enforce that the player is repeatedly blowing his standard actions and making noise every ~2 minutes keep the ring of mirror image active (which enemies might hear with a listen check), then I suppose 10,800 gp for the at-will ring of mirror images might be fair.

Ring of enlarge person Continues 1st Level spell x Caster Level 1 x 1800 or 1st Level spell x Caster Level 1 x 2000 ~~~ 1x1x1800=1800 1x1x2000=2000
Now we can make this cheaper and more viable for a DM to accept
We are going to give it charges per day.
Charges per day Divide by (5 divided by charges per day) Boots of teleportation
Command word activation. Take 1800 devide by 5/4(1.25) = 1440g for 4charges a day. If this item is made by hand then we cut this cost in half new cost 720g Now remember this is the cheap version you will only be enlarged for 1min on each activation. YOu need to change the caster level to something higher if you want it to last even longer.

Neither exists. Both are based on core spells, and don't involve any setting or campaign-specific fluff. Custom items are designed by the DM, and the DM needs motivation to create them. If there were sufficient motivation based on just the effects themselves then they would have existed in the DMG.

To each his own I suppose. I believe it goes by the comparison of other items in retrospect to cost of this particular item. For example: ring of invisibility costing at least 20k. Something that is permanently in use raises the cost of course. Figuring a ring of enlarge person would approximately 24k which I think would be satisfactory. Although I did see there is a belt of growth worth 3,000 but it's use is once a day. As for ring of mirror images permanent would cost around 64k for maximizing images. I think it would be cool and at the same time annoying walking around with multiple images of yourself.

I almost did exactly that with an Ultimate Magus. I was contemplating casting Improved Mirror Image with Persistent Spell. I didn't quite reach the level to try it before the campaign fizzled. At least with a ring you can turn it on and off.
