Heya!

One of my friend wants to recreate Annie Hastur from League of Legends. If you don't know her already, she's a young pyromaniac girl possessing magical power, she's guarded by her teddy bear named Tibbers. Tibbers usualy appears as a simple teddy bear that she carries with her arround, but when she needs protections, she throws Tibbers unto her enemies, becoming a large fiery clawing teddy bear.

I don't know much about constructs and effigies, but i know enough to be able to give the bear flaming melee attacks, and a fire shield that hurts anyone striking it. But i'd like to make it more like the real Tibbers.

1. Out of combat, is there a way to hide the bear effigy as a simple plushie?

2. Can i enchant the bear in an immolating aura that damages everyone nearby every round? (instead of a fire shields that only damages attackers)

3. When she calls Tibbers, is it possible to make it appear in a burst of flames?

Thanks!

Well, consider doing a refluff of the ring of blades spell by turning it into fire damage. That solves the fire aura that hurts things around it.

Appearing in a burst of flames is cosmetic, so no problems there.

The best I can think of for hiding the bear is sticking it in a bag of holding. It doesn't breathe, so it can stay there for an unlimited amount of time.

A custom Item of Summon Monster could work. Or a figurine of wondrous power maybe. Something with charges anyway. Annie can only keep Tibbers in his glory around for a short time after all.

Only thing is: what ECL is Tibbers?

The refluff of ring of blades is what i need, thanks for the info!

We might start out around level 10, so whatever ECL her money allows.

Wow, the figurine of wondrous power is spot on, i just change the figure for a plush and it's exactly what i need. Maybe i could add the price of the enchant to the effigy's price, and then i could reduce the total cost by giving it less the 5 charges a day?

Thanks for the help =D

Edit: Also i guess Tibbers can be upgraded as the player gains levels and wealth, giving it more HD and stronger enchantments and stats.

How about making the girl a Pathfinder Summoner (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/summoner) and her teddy bear as the Eidolon?

Personally, I find Effigies a bit awkward, and would suggest possibly backporting the summoner, or using a Shaper Psion with the Personal Construct (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20070411a) ACF.

At level 10, you can conceivably have a ML of 12 with Overchannel. Use a torc of power preservation to get that to 13 pp spent on the construct that you favor and get a 7th-level construct. The Boost Construct feat gives you two Menu C abilities. Taking levels of Constructor lets you have three of those abilities.

As a swift action that burns Psionic Focus (and may or may not cost PP, depending on your DM's reading. I personally think it reads as "the entire thing is free".), you can now summon a Large-sized monster built to work as needed.

I'd personally go with something like:
Human Psion 6/Constructor (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20040625b)4
Feats:

1st: Overchannel

Human: Practiced Manifester (Psion)

Psion: Psicrystal Affinity

3rd: Boost Construct

6th: Talented

9th: Psionic Meditation

This is your bear:

Tibbers (7th-level Astral Construct)
Size/Type: Large Construct
Hit Dice: 13d10+30
Initiative: +1
Speed: 40ft
Armor Class: 27 (+1 Dex, +17 natural, -1 size), touch 10, flat-footed 26
Base Attack/Grapple: +9/+25
Full Attack: 3 Claw attacks +21 each (2d6+12 + 1d4 fire and Improved Grab)
Saves: Fort +4, Ref +5, Will +4
Ability Scores: Str 35, Dex 13, Con Ø, Int Ø, Wis 11, Cha 10
Special:
3 Menu C abilities base, two Menu C swapped for 4 Menu B, one Menu B swapped for Two Menu A

Claws (Menu A)
Power Attack (Menu A)
Pounce (Menu B)
Extra Attack (Menu B)
Energy Touch (Fire) (Menu B) Really crappy, but it's scary enough already and it's on-theme
Constrict 2d6+12 (Menu C) It's a bear, it's now got improved grab on its claws and does more damage

DR 10/magic
Construct Traits

That's the main scary bit that this build gets, but it also gets a good amount of powers. The one I'm mainly looking at here is Energy Stun (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/energyStun.htm), a 2nd-level Psion Power that drops a 5ft-radius ball of stunning fire for you.

To represent a well-placed combo, you can go:

Standard Action: Talented Energy Stun (12pp and Psionic Focus): 12d6 Fire damage with a Reflex save (DC 21 + Int mod + other), then a Will save or be stunned.
Move Action: Psionic Meditation to regain Psionic Focus.
Swift Action: "YAY! TIBBERS!" (http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/2/2f/Annie.ultimate4.ogg) Summon your bear right next to them as a Swift action, burning your newly-recovered Psionic Focus.

If need be, then find an item that lets you move-action teleport and open with a non-Talented Energy Stun to represent Flash-comboing someone :smallamused:

Other powers that will be useful:

Energy Retort (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/energyRetort.htm) a.k.a. half of Molten Shield.
Share Pain (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/sharePain.htm) on your Psicrystal a.k.a. the other half of Molten Shield
Energy Wave (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/energyWave.htm) is a scaled-up Incinerate, or you can substitute various other blasting powers.
