Giant subtype?

Are there any decent, low LA races that have the giant type or subtype, or am I stuck with Half-Ogre from SS?

Half-Giant obviously. Can have Primordial applied for a more "caster"-y base.

Goliaths to me are more giant than monstrous humanoid. Maybe you could talk to your DM and change that?

Now that someone's mentioned goliaths, aren't feral garguns giants? A couple RHD and some LA so maybe not quite what the OP's looking for but it's there.

Just Checked. Eneko have the Giant type, medium size and powerful build. LA +1

Feral garguns are monstrous humanoids as well. There's also the Taer from Unapproachable East: +1 level adjustment and 2 HD of giant.

Half Ogre, Dragon #313, if smaller than large size bumps up one level, Giant-Blooded racial trait, +1 LA

An Incarnate Construct Maug is a Giant with 2 racial HD and +1 LA.

The Cyclopean races are from Dragon 323, by the way. If you can make it large, you can also go Incarnate Construct Warforged, but you lose out on a lot of what makes Warforged amazing.
