Truly Outlandish (ex): The Flatling's mind is utterly alien to creatures of the Great Wheel. As such, it is immune to all mind-affecting effects. Its morality is, likewise, beyond anything understood on the Wheel and as such, it is immune to all effects that require a target to be a certain alignment, or all effects that are more effective against creatures of certain alignments, even if they would normally have a reduced effect against neutral creatures.
Perfectly Flat (ex): The Flatling is a two-dimensional creature and absolutely flat. As such, it interacts with three-dimensinoal space in several strange ways:
-It takes up no space. Instead of occupying one or several squares, it exists along the border between two squares, forming a flat 10ft. by 10 ft. plane. It still threatens a space ten feet around it with its reach.
-It can not hold any items or objects or interact with anything other than by attacking it with its vorpal slash (with its edge) or by bumping into it (with its flat side).
-It can fit through any gap or fissure, no matter how narrow, if it is at least ten feet long. It can try to fit through shorter gaps with an escape artist check.
-It takes no damage from area effects that target only one square it borders, but double damage from area effects that target squares on both its sides.
Perfect Alignment (ex): As a swift action, the Flatling can align itself in space so as to present its edge to a creature. This has the following effects:
It is perfectly invisible to the target creature. This is natural invisibility and not negated by see invisibility, true seeing or similar effects.
It can not be hit by attacks by that creature in any way, or be the target of any non-area effects from that creature.
There are however, also negative side-effects to aligning:
As long as the flatling is aligned, it can not perceive other creatures very well, making it flat-footed against any attacks from non-aligned targets.
Perfect alignment lasts until the target creature moves or the Flatling alings itself to a different target.
Vorpal Slash (ex):
The Flatling's edge is a deadly slashing weapon. It can only use its slash against creatures with which it is currently aligned (see perfect alignment, above). The slash is Vorpal, meaning that on a natural 20 to hit (if that hit is confirmed) it immediately beheads any creature with a recognizeable head, killing it.
Additionally, the Flatling can use this to slice through objects. Its attacks against objects ignore hardness and it has a +20 racial bonus on sunder checks.
