It's immune to many of the standard low-level disables, and can out-fight or out-grapple 2-3 barbarians...and it's yours for 10 rounds, once per day, for the low low price of 700gp.
Heck, at level 3 by WBL, you could have 3 of these for each party member.
The only thing it can't handle combat-wise is flyers.
