Where can I upload a custom avatar?

This may be a rather n00b question, but I can't find the answer in the FAQ, or in other recent threads. I have a custom avatar image that I wish to use, but I can't figure out where one can upload a file so that it can be linked to. My own website isn't up yet, & I my daemon image just isn't me. Help me, please.
