The Three-Section Staff (referred to as the Sansetsukon (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/weapons/weapon-descriptions/sansetsukon-three-section-staff) on the Eastern Weapons (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/weapons/eastern-weapons) list) is a hell of a weapon: martial two-handed, 1d10 19-20/x2, with the blocking, disarm, and monk descriptors. That last descriptor is important. It means we can Flurry with them. With Power Attack and Improved Critical, that can get nasty. I like.

This leads me to the second section of this post, and my first question. If a monk is wielding a sansetsukon, can they make all of their FoB attacks with it, or can they only make the main-hand attacks with it (and thus must use unarmed strikes for the off-hand attacks)? To provide an example, would a 20th-level monk be able to make all seven of their Flurry of Blows attacks with a sansetsukon, or would they only be able to make four attacks with the sansetsukon and three with their unarmed strike?

What about with Pummeling Style + Martial Versatility (UAS -> monk weapons)? If a 20th-level monk makes a pummeling attack with a sansetsukon, do all of their attacks deal damage as the sansetsukon? It seems as if they do, and if so this would be a workaround should the answer to my first question turn out to be that only main-hand attacks can use the sansetsukon.

You can divide them up any way you choose, (http://paizo.com/paizo/faq/v5748nruor1fm#v5748eaic9pyx) so long as you don't exceed the number of attacks given to you by the flurry.

Pummeling Style is fist only. (http://paizo.com/paizo/faq/v5748nruor1gw#v5748eaic9sfs) There are a ways to make it work with a handful of other weapons, but none to get it to apply to a sansetsukon.

EDIT: Forgot "monk" was a weapon group. Yes you can pummel with your sansetsukon.
