Eldritch Knight Bonus Attack

I'm AFB at the moment, so don't have the details right in front of me. But the Eldritch knight has an ability that lets him make a bonus attack after he casts a cantrip. Can he use this bonus attack to cast a spell that has a casting time of a Bonus action?

If you're talking about War Magic (snagged at lvl 7) then it says "...you can make one weapon attack as a bonus action."

AFB but I believe bonus action spells can always be cast as a bonus action as long as the only other spells cast that round were cantrips. I'm not sure how that interacts with war caster (reaction spell) though.
