Transmutation. It vies for the title of "Best School of Magic" and yet...
Does it seem to anyone else like dedicated transmuters get the shaft when it comes to prestige classes? Master Transmogrifist, while it has some neat abilities, loses 4 caster levels (which means no shapechange, normally). Master Specialist gives transmutation some piddly esoterica - though the rest of the class features are as solid for transmuters as anyone. Archmage doesn't offer much that's transmutation focused. Master of Many Forms and Warshaper don't progress spellcasting at all. Even the wizard specialist variant for transmuters falls flat and are hardly worth taking (with the possible exception of Spell Versatility.
There are a few good feats, like Minor Shapechange, and general spellcasting feats of course still work, but nowhere near what there is for the other "top dog" school, conjuration.
Don't get me wrong, this isn't a transmuters are underpowered thread. I know better. It's just that they don't seem to have gotten much dedicated splat support.
Am I wrong? Is there a great transmutation prestige class I'm overlooking?
