Where's Celia, the fairy girl that Roy was hot for? Perhaps I missed a comic, but I don't remember her leaving town...

Maybe she's going to come in and save the day? I'd consider Roy to be in a bit of a bind up there right now... might be a good time for someone with, say, flying powers, to come in and provide the assist. ;)

Ah, that's right! When you mentioned that, I remembered comic 320.

I totally forgot about it. Aye, I definately think it'll have a part to play.

Actually, she can be resurrected, it's just a little harder. According to the outsider type (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/typesSubtypes.htm#outsiderType) description, it takes a Wish, Miracle, True Resurrection, or... Limited Wish, which V has been proven to be high enough level to cast (all those 1 target/level buffs on 13 soldiers)

No, Celia is Fey (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0071.html). She can be resurrected. And even Outsiders can be resurrected (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/typesSubtypes.htm#outsiderType), it's just a little harder -- hell, Limited Wish can do the job.

More importantly, don't outsiders get banished back to their plane unless they're native? I could be wrong, its been awhile since I read the rules, but I was reasonably certain they could only be killed on their home plane.

Only if they're summoned - one who is called, or physical planeshifts there, is killable just fine.

Huh? I don't think Roy would be cheating on her this early in the relationship. He is Lawful Good.

Wait. Oh. I'm thinking of knocked up.
Rather cheeky thing to do with an undead dragon anyways, innit?

I have a feeling she'll be back in the near future; part of me wonders if she might arrive with reinforcements(paraelemental Riders of Rohan, anybody?), but I don't think it's very likely. Slim chance at best that there's someone else with her. She might catch Roy as he falls off the dragon, or she might show up and toss a spell or two while he's still on the dragon, or... there's a lot of possibilities.

There's even the possibility she arrives too late... though I would hope that doesn't happen.

Well, the comic did go out of its way to show that Celia is able to fly while carrying Roy. That could have been a set up so she could rescue airborne Roy later without people screaming that there is no way a sylph could carry a human.

She's a sylph (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0053.html), right? That's Outsider (Air) (http://realmshelps.dandello.net/cgi-bin/mainlist2.pl?Sylph).

I don't think Roy has any ranks in Knowledge (nature) or Knowledge (the planes), so he can be wrong about the relevant creature types. And Celia may not have caught his mistake or just didn't care to acknowledge it, being more concerned with the idea of working for Xykon.

I'll just re-state the obvious.

Roy falls from the zombie dragon and he needs someone to catch him mid-flight or he lands in the middle of the hobgoblin army (because who's scared of 20d6 anyway).

She's a sylph, but she appears to be a homebrew variant, so I wouldn't count on published sylph stats. She isn't Small like a cannon sylph, she's Medium sized like Roy. If her size is different, other things can be different as well.

cannon sylph

BOOM!

Very sorry. Anyway, I always though half-fey, hence human type.

outsiders that die on the prime are returned to their home of origin becuase they are sentient parts of said home plane...so if she is an air elemental she will return to the plane of air...and revive a very long time later. Pit fiends take 100 years to reform...though she is not nearly as strong, so maybe a year? Two at most.

Oh, yeah. I figured this one out, Celia apparently has a Strength score of 23 (assuming Roy weighs 180 pounds). Explains why she's so good at grapple checks, doesn't it?

Anyways, the Giant has rarely performed a plot twist like that without some foreshadowing. We're probably going to see Roy dangling off a peripece debating whether to use the charm, and then someone in the party will rescue him, and then it will actually be used about 20 comics later.
