Mounted Fighting with a Scimitar

Scimitars are a weapon that was quite literally designed to be a specialized horseback weapon, yet there is next to nothing I can find that enables it to be wielded any more effectively than a longsword or greatsword. That needs to change, I think, but how to do it?

I was thinking that making Scimitar deal double damage on a mounted charge as well as making it a discipline weapon for Piercing Lance would be a good start. Any other ideas?

Horselord Cavalier makes it do double damage on a mounted charge, but that applies to all 1 handed slashing weapons.

The designed for horseback bit is that it's less likely to get stuck, which isn't usually a concern in PF.

If you have a high dex there's dervish dance, & that is useful to a mounted combatant to improve your ride skill. Combine with horselord cavalier as deuxhero suggests and you should be reasonably effective.
