Hey guys,
I have a super quick question. I just found an old character sheet that has an item called "Ring of Horizons" on it. But I can't find it in any of my 3.5 books. Can anyone help me track it down? I can't seem to get it to come up on google either.

Thanks!

Well i did a quick google search and got.......... nothing. It doesnt sound familiar to me, its possible that its either A. a setting specific item B. from a third party source or C. a custom magic item.

Does your sheet say what it does?

Oddly enough it does not. I'm not sure why.

What kind of character does this ring belong to?

I'm looking as I type, but not finding much. While it might not help us find anything, it might give a clue.

After all, the word Horizon could imply the Deity Fharlanghn, The school that Chameleons learn their trade from, The Horizon Walker prestige class, or a randomly generated Illuminian Cabal, among other things. Narrowing it down might help a bit :P

I also found a homebrewed item on danddwiki, loathe be it's name.

It was given to a Druid. Who was really a spell casting specialist. Otherwise, there wasn't anythinng else special about her.

Good eye. But we NEVER use that website. *laughs*

Hm. Check to see if the skills add up? Ring of Horizons sounds like something that might add to Spot checks or the like, or maybe to spell/weapon range. At least, that seems the most intuitive thing that it could apply to.

It could've just been a custom use-activated item that you hadn't used and that hadn't been explicitly identified. I've had characters who've spent a while carrying around a magic item with no idea of A) its name beyond what I called it based on its appearance and B) its function.

Could it possibly be a reslotted version of Horizon Goggles (Complete Mage 133)? It grants the Far Shot feat.

There are also the Distant Horizon (ToB:Bo9S) and Far Horizon (RoD) feats. However the former requires maneuvers and the latter is for clerics (adds class skills and spells to cleric list).

Finally, the Near Horizon spell takes away range penalties (Assassin/Ranger 2 spell, CM).

Any of those sound familiar? Was the character ranged-attack based at all?
