[Trial] The Town vs. Adder

Here begins the trial of The Town vs. Adder, on the charge of assault. The incident can be found here (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38419&page=16). Possible witnesses include (but are not limited to) Sai, Adder, the Patrol Fairy, and Eric.

Judge Jaspero enters his courtroom and sits.

"Who is here to represent the Town, and does the defendant wish to use a lawyer?"

[McBish]

McBish enters the courtroom. I will represent the Town.

[Nevrmore]

Adder walks calmly into the courthouse, "I'll represent myself."

[El Jaspero, the Pirate King]

"Very good. Adder, how do you plead?"

[Nevrmore]

"Not guilty, your honor."

[El Jaspero, the Pirate King]

Judge Jaspero nods. "Very well. McBish, please call your first witness."

[McBish]

Your honor I would like to call the parole fairy to the stand.

((I'll run it if no one objects and do the standard ask a question and wait to see if Nevrmore objects. Ok?))

[El Jaspero, the Pirate King]

((Sounds fine.))

"Patrol Fairy, please come up to the witness stand."

[McBish]

The fairy flies up to the stand and takes a seat.

[Xerillum]

Ealendros stomps in as a surprise witness, musing about the town's justice system.

"Parole Fairy, do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth by that which you hold sacred?"

[McBish]

I do. She says. ((Parole not patrol.))

[El Jaspero, the Pirate King]

((Whoops, sorry.))

"Very good. McBish, please proceed."

[McBish]

Parole fairy what is your job?
((Any objection Nevrmore?))

[Nevrmore]

((No, no objections))

[McBish]

I keep tabs on people on parole by scrying on them.

Do you do this for everyone on parole?

[Nevrmore]

((No objections))

[McBish]

Not me personally there are several faires to do this job. But every prisoner is watched.

And who was the last person you watched?

[Nevrmore]

((Nyooooope.))

[McBish]

Adder was.

And you watched him at all time of the day?

[El Jaspero, the Pirate King]

((Ahem...shall we proceed, gentlemen?))

[McBish]

I have been informed that due to a victim unwilling to press charges I am afraid that the Town wishes to drop the charges. We aplogize for wasting the courts time.

[Nevrmore]

"Aww, that's a shame." Adder pops a cigarette into his mouth.

[El Jaspero, the Pirate King]

"So be it."

Judge Jaspero bangs his gavel. "Adder, this trial is closed and you are free to go." He steps down and heads out the door.

[Nevrmore]

"The system fails again!" Adder says triumphantly before departing.
