Greetings, Playground.

I am making a Wizard for an upcoming campaign and I was wondering what the best ways to increase your DC to incredibly high levels (without out use of incredibly DM reliant tricks).

Lost Tradition (Any stat can be used for spellcasting (essentially switches the Wizard's native Intellect-based casting to whatever else), so this will probably be built off of another stat, as Con, for instance, is easier to boost than others.

Thanks.

Irresistible Spell from Kingdoms of Kalahmar. No save DC worries.

Your DM allowed the third party book?
Out side of that, there is that Kingdoms of Kalamar book that was 3.0 legal while the rest were not (Making the update to Irresistible Spell 3rd Party). So, if you are playing with 3.0 stuff allowed grab Irresistible Spell.

+4 Spell Slot seems somewhat hefty, but obviously worth it in some scenarios.

Your DM has to be pretty insane to allow that though. DMM Irresistible Spell makes any Cleric a killing machine from level 1. At higher levels you can one shot any character in the game.

Remember, because of Coup de Grace, Hold Person is a death spell at any level :smallwink:

I suggest you keep intelligence as your main casting stat.

Tome of clear thought gives +5. So if you start at 18int, by level 20 you'll have 18+5+5+6(headband of intellect) = 34. That's a +12 to your spell DCs. Dominate monster will be 10+9+12=31, which is pretty hard to resist.

Of course there's always shapechange + lost tradition or whatever (never heard of it), and there are some monsters with ridiculous strength.

Starting at level ten, so that isn't an option.

Polymorph + lost tradition? + belt of giant strength or whatnot.
