If you fail a charisma check, would re-casting charm monster on the target allow a retry? Casting the 2nd charm monster would break the 1st charm since it's a hostile act, and if it goes through am I allowed a 2nd charisma check for the action I want the subject to do?
It would be no different than a charmed monster, doing some task, gets hit by a dispel magic, reverts to his old self and tries to kill me, and then I succeed a 2nd charm monster and I persuade him to redo that task.
