I'm looking for ways to build aerial transports capable of carrying at least 6 people on voyages of several days. Anything within the rules, but neither teleportation or elemental/airships are options.

One obvious thing is using flying undead to carry a craft. Stitched-together flying carpets, potentially. And you could also just build a zeppelin, potentially with the help of magic. But what weirder/more DIY methods are there?

Summon 6 giant birds or 2 big dragons to carry them.

Grab 6 brooms and cast extended/persisted levitate spells to make flying broomsticks.

Construct 6 really big bag of winds, tie them to people's backs, face the way you want to go then open the bags while jumping as high as possible.

Cloud walk is boring, but effective.

Graft dragon/bat wings to everyone's backs to give permanent flight.

I second birds.

And suggest a Flying Fortress, if you care to wade into the bog of the Stronghold Builder's Guidebook.

But honestly, the cheapest option will always be to buy items of flight (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?187851-3-5-Lists-of-Necessary-Magic-Items).

Or, if you're a wizard, cast overland flight.

Are you aware that the arms and equipment guide has several flying vehicles? Eberron campaign setting too.

Dungeon Master's Guide has rules for flying ships, I think. Check there.

This can carry six people (well, the tastier parts of them, at least):

Probably the easiest way is a colossal animated object (Sheetlike) carrying a boat. The object is colossal and has a strength score of 28, netting it a light carrying capacity of about 3 tons. If you make it with wheels it will have a flight speed of 25 ft. per round, which is slow but still useful for long trips crossing mountains. Applying boosting spells or items to it is also fair, since it is a creature.

Also there is this (https://docs.google.com/document/d/14zilT4WGOyHM0AfpG4-GmD2FkgDg1HZ9HC1cTleQHds/edit)guide.

Animated sheet of metal is excellent in terms of lasting and not needing to be fed spells constantly. Thanks for the guide link, too, I hadn't found that.

Edit: That's a nifty guide.
